Behind the title

As our new Director of Product Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Heimdall platform — an industry-leading, open-source platform that enhances multiple internal products with robust software engineering capabilities.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the Software Engineering Platform products align with business goals and for managing the Product Owners who oversee the platform's development, from inception to deployment and operations.

A few of your responsibilities are:

  • Overseeing the development and execution of product development from discovery to delivery aligned with the organization's goals and objectives

  • Managing stakeholder engagement across Software Platform Capabilities, as well as cost, charge back budget, and preferred tools and technologies in collaboration with Product Owners, Tech leads, and Platform Architects

  • Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with external vendors, partners, and industry experts

  • Fostering open communication channels to address challenges and gather customer feedback related to the product

  • Being a role model, demonstrating passion for the project, while coaching and mentoring employees on how to build and apply competences

The role will be based on Ørestaden, as of Q4 2024.

Digital Foundation (DF) is part of the Digital, Data & IT (DD&IT) department - where we partner with the business to support digital transformation and innovation in all parts of the Novo Nordisk value chain. Our vision is to accelerate software development by taking ownership in developing and delivering software development platforms, tools, processes, and advisory services.

We strive to make software development teams more effective and efficient, by focusing three areas:

  • Scaling software development capability

  • Increasing focus on building valuable code

  • Enabling faster releases & time to market

Our current team consists of a very diverse pool of talent, with colleagues from various backgrounds and 11 different nationalities – something we at DF are very proud of.

Which competencies to bring?

To succeed in this role, we expect you tick most of the following:

  • At least 12 years of experience in product management, design, or engineering of digital products

  • At least 7 years of experience in a leadership role,

  • The ability to think strategically and understand the broader business objectives is important

  • Proven experience setting direction and communicating a compelling purpose and vision with passion and urgency

  • Deep interest in technology and building a great product, with high focus on customer needs and perspective

  • Previous experience with contributing to Open Source Software would be beneficial

Personally, we expect you to be proactive, highly collaborative, and capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization. We are looking for an open, transparent, and honest team player, ready to act as role model and empower others to take action. You should be able to listen actively, articulate ideas clearly, present information persuasively, and adapt communication style as needed.
