About the department

People Strategy Office drives a comprehensive and strategic approach to improving and enhancing an organization’s overall effectiveness, efficiency, and adaptability. It involves implementing planned interventions and initiatives to enhance various aspects of the organization, including its structure, culture, processes, and human resources. This role will report directly to the Head of People Strategy Office.

The position

As a Senior Strategic Talent Management Lead, you will support the Head of People Strategy Office in driving and supervising talent management and succession planning initiatives, implementation and adoption of talent management and global programs, tools, and processes, focusing on performance management, succession planning, talent management and strategic workforce planning.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead talent review discussion and follow-up processes for the entire organization and prepare for talent reviews, facilitates Executive management team (EMT) discussions, and ensures the implementation of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) with Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs). Support Organization Development Plan (ODP) meetings with global.
  • Develop the design, development, implementation, and adoption of talent management programs, tools, and processes within Novo Nordisk Japan, focusing on performance management, succession planning, and talent management.
  • Consult with senior leaders, HRBPs, and line management on performance excellence, talent development, and succession planning. Collaborate with leaders to drive the performance management cycle—setting objectives, coaching, evaluating, and rewarding. Lead change management for key talent and culture initiatives at local and global levels.
  • Supervise talent management program and leadership training as a senior member.
  • Manage communications aligned with business and people strategies to promote a high-performance culture. Oversee talent assessment and succession planning initiatives, ensuring alignment with divisional strategies. Serve as a talent lead, partnering with HRBPs to support client groups across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 7 years or above working experience in HR function, HRBP and Talent Development and minimum 3 years of formal project management experience.
  • Working experience of in pharmaceutical industry is preferable.
  • Proven working experience in learning and development and Organization development.
  • Fluency in Japanese and business-Level in English.
