About the department
Finance Global Business Services (GBS), Bangalore was established in 2007 and is currently responsible for supporting Accounting, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Commercial Analytics, Financial Planning & Analytics for Headquarters in Denmark, Region Europe, North America, International Operations & Global Service Centre Bangalore. Commercial Analytics is part of Finance GBS and was founded in June 2013 with the idea of establishing a team consisting of dedicated analytics professionals to provide best-in-class analytical services and insights to the global organization. The main purpose of our existence is to provide superior service and partnership experience to our stakeholders consistently and add value to the processes in terms of standardization and efficiency.

The Postion

As an Advanced Business Analyst at Novo Nordisk, you will be supporting our Business Intelligence team in Bangalore, focusing on the BAMEAC region. This dynamic region encompasses 63 countries across Middle Africa, CEM, NERM, Gulf, Egypt, South Africa, Morocco, and Tunisia, offering a diverse and exciting market landscape. BAMEAC, driven by tender and private markets, provides invaluable learning opportunities to understand business impacts from an access perspective. You will be reporting directly to the Associate Manager – Business Intelligence.


As an Advanced Business Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work closely with BAMEAC region stakeholders, make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives and contribute to our mission of defeating serious chronic diseases. You will be entrusted with the below responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical and consulting services in designing, delivering and executing projects related to market access
  • Understand the business question, design the appropriate approach and/or methodology to answer the business question
  • Develop and implement Competitive Intelligence, Market Sizing and other strategic projects that help in understanding the Market trends and dynamics better, and report the same in Excel/ PowerPoint
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills with knowledge on advanced analytical tools
  • Develop and implement complex reporting in Excel/PowerPoint/Power BI that relates to commercial activities
  • Understanding of multiple datasets of IQVIA Market/Sales, Internal Company Sales Data
  • Awareness on various BI technologies with ability to operate and define KPIs from user perspective
  • Excellent presentation and story boarding skills on PowerPoint
  • Ability to generate insights from given data and recommend actionable solution
  • Knowledge of SAP (Business Warehouse or Business Objects) preferable
  • Provide analytical and consulting services in designing, delivering and executing projects related to Business intelligence.
  • Ensure superior stakeholder engagement by delivering insight-driven projects
  • Collaborate and execute cross functional projects
  • Open and transparent communication with all parties involved

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree (preferably within quantitative/management discipline) from a well-recognized institute.
  • Under-graduate degree preferably in Pharma (B. Pharm), Science/Biotechnology (BSc) and Engineering (B. Tech) with a good academic track record.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in Pharma industry. Consulting experience would be a plus
  • Working experience in Asia / Europe Markets with strong strategic and analytical capabilities to translate business problems into the most efficient and effective analysis plan; execute the analysis including data pull, data preparation, conclusions and recommendations.
  • Good hands-on experience in working on commercial effectiveness datasets and metrics, working knowledge of IMS MIDAS database and SAP (Business Warehouse or Business Objects).
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with different stakeholders, including vendors, consultants and project teams.
  • Experience in analyzing market data, including market composition, competitor performance.
  • Good to have hands-on experience of working on Forecasting, Market Research and consulting projects.
  • Technical skills:
  • Must Have: Advanced knowledge of Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and basic VBA, proficiency in MS Office and Power BI Dashboarding.
  • Preferred: Hands on experience of Knowledge of SAP (Business Warehouse or Business Objects)
  • Personal skills:
  • Good knowledge on Commercial side of business
  • Ability to undertake drill-down analysis of key business problems and interpret results, generate insights and recommend actions
  • Conceptual, analytical & tactical thinking, strategic thought process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong working relationships and effectively influence all levels of the business
  • Ability to naturally assume ownership of initiatives, requiring minimal supervision to consistently deliver outstanding results
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across different geographies
  • Conceptualize and think strategically with the ability to look beyond the data (insight generation)
  • Consult, present, influence cross-functional teams and make recommendations to senior management with confidence
  • The candidate is expected to exhibit a high degree of flexibility as the nature & timing of the assignment of deliverables keeps changing with the ever-changing business dynamics
  • Knowledge around key geographies across BAMEAC region would be an add-on
