The position

As our Market Access & Public Affairs Head, your main role will be overseeing, developing and implementing affiliate-wide Market Access and Public Affairs strategies. You will be managing the right structure, capacity, and tools for pricing, market access and public affairs and for leading and developing, the right organisational capabilities in the affiliate. This position will report to the General Manager and will have 3 direct reports.

Your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive market access strategies that align with the company’s business objectives. Provide strategic counsel to related parties on market access issues and opportunities. Oversee both national and field market access activities to ensure cohesive and effective execution.
  • Conduct national efforts to secure product listing, reimbursement, and pricing agreements with health insurers, government health agencies, and other payers. Develop and implement field market access strategies to enhance local product uptake. Manage and help a team of field market access managers to engage with local healthcare providers, regional payers, and local health authorities. Additionally, coach, monitor and develop the MAPA team fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Analyze market access data and trends to inform strategy development, prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership, and utilize data-driven approaches to optimize strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Develop and implement public relations programs, activities, campaigns, events, and promotional materials that shield and enhance the organization’s reputation.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships at all levels of government, public services, and other authorities. Represent the organization’s position on legislation and government policy to government representatives, committees, and other regulatory agencies. Act as an internal expert to educate and update investors, shareholders, and analysts.
  • Ensure complete compliance to global and IO pricing strategies and adapt those strategies to affiliate setting to maximize revenues based on a solid understanding of expected submission evaluations, intrinsic value, precedents, modelling to define per market price level, market access schemes.
  • Provide periodic updates about analysts’ estimates, investor perceptions, industries and peer company performance, and the stock market to senior members of company management.

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree (preferably within the quantitative/management discipline) from a well-recognized institute with good academic track records and grades.
  • Senior/executive management experience in the pharma industry. Knowledge gained by leading a senior commercial, business, or medical position with broad leadership experience and the ability to lead a cross functional team.
  • At least 10 years of experience within a pharmaceutical company or within the life science industry. Strong experience is needed in market access and exp in building relationships the with Ministry of Health, Policy makers, peers, and the Medical Society and the Patient Association.
  • Strong people management experience (ideally managing large and diverse teams)
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills to effectively convey financial information to stakeholders. Proficiency in Arabic & French is a must have.
