The Position
As a Development Scientist, your primary responsibility will be process aids and Single Use Systems (SUS) used in all our API processes. You will be working in a dynamic environment with a broad range of stakeholders located in different functional areas such as development, production, sourcing operations and quality control. For this position you will apply your technical and science expertise to manage risk and continuously optimise a wide variety of raw materials, polymer materials and SUS.
Key task will include:
• Perform leachable and extractable assessments and evaluate suitability of polymer materials/SUS.
• Technical assessments of new polymer materials/SUS.
• Collaborate with productions and process support to define and document user requirements for polymer materials, SUS and raw materials.
• Coordinate the implementation of supplier related changes to materials.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Process Support to investigate material issues and implement necessary changes.
• Support our API productions with optimization and innovation related to their usage and handling of polymer materials/SUS and raw materials.
• Develop and maintain a knowledge base for polymer materials and single-use systems, providing insights for internal stakeholders.
• Stay updated with relevant regulations and standards concerning polymer materials and single-use systems, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
In this role you will act as the scientific liaison between Manufacturing, Process Support and Procurement.
You will work with experienced colleagues across the organisation and collaborate with various external stakeholders such as material suppliers, logistics services, production departments, CMC, regulatory affairs, and QA, to ensure product quality and stable production. You will experience an enthusiastic working climate focused on quality, teamwork, and delivery.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you have:
• A solid theoretical background and a science academic Degree (Cand. Pharm, Cand. Scient, Chemical Engineer, Chemistry or equivalent) complimented with some years of practical experience from industry and an interest in raw materials.
• Experience with working in cross functional projects with a broad range of stakeholders.
• You might have worked as a project manager.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English.

You can navigate between multiple stakeholders and utilize your great communication skills to ensure a successful collaboration. You have a curious mind-set and are eager to seek and identify new solutions that will optimize our processes.
About the Department
In the Product Supply (PS) section of Novo Nordisk we manufacture the pharmaceutical backbone of our many quality APIs. PS API MSAT Manufacturing Support consist of four teams responsible for timely support of the many processes that create our APIs.
You can look forward to becoming part of a dynamic, well-functioning, and cross functional team. As part of this team, we have a raw material group of 3 scientists. We thrive on professional challenges and work independently with great individual responsibility and a high level of commitment.
Our department is in Bagsværd, which will be your primary location, but we also have offices in Gentofte and Kalundborg.
