The position

As the Supply Chain Director in Global Contract Manufacturing Devices (GCM Devices) and a member of the management team, you will play a pivotal role in our area’s global supply chain operation and strategy development in close collaboration with the corporate supply chain functions, the Operations Management department in GCM Devices, and other functions involved in the supply network development and operations. You will manage supply chain planning, logistics and procurement operations, supply chain data and systems oversight, and lead the department through other leaders in accordance with the Novo Nordisk Way. Your function will be our area’s face towards our downstream customers in Novo Nordisk and other contract manufacturers that produce the final drug products with our devices.

You can look forward to:

  • Strategy Development & Implementation: Set and implement the strategic direction for supply chain processes across GCM Devices, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Supply Chain Operations: Oversee supply chain operations, including procurement for manufacturing and logistics across a global network of contract manufacturing sites and suppliers.
  • Leadership & Management: Lead the department through other leaders, managing a team with 3-5 direct reports and 30-50 indirect reports, ensuring budget and people responsibility while fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce lead time, working capital, and costs in the supply chain using LEAN and digitalization, such as integration with suppliers.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including contract manufacturers, to ensure smooth operations and mitigate supply risks.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the supply chain system development including systems integration and electronic data exchange with contract manufacturers in a growing global network, ensuring an efficient and effective supply chain operation in alignment with organisational goals. You will also have the chance to empower and develop leaders within your team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. The role may involve occasional travel.

Qualifications

We realise that few people are experts at everything. But if you can nod your head at the following attributes, then you could be the person we are looking for:

  • A relevant degree in supply chain management, operations, or a related field is preferred.
  • Several years of experience in managing supply chain and operations, with some years of people leadership experience.
  • Solid value chain experience with outsourced production will be a clear advantage.
  • Proven track record of creating business results with functional impact, strong business acumen, and the ability to lead a complex organization.
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory.

You excel in collaboration with stakeholders, building partnerships, and driving empowerment and engagement in a trusting environment. About the Department

GCM Devices|Supply Chain Planning & Logistics leads the strategic planning and operational execution of our global supply network. Our department handles inventory management, purchase planning, order management, and delivery coordination. By optimising logistics processes and strengthening our system capabilities, we ensure our supply chain remains robust, responsive, and aligned with production needs.

Our dedicated team of over 200 colleagues is based at several locations, including Hjørring and Hillerød in Denmark, working collaboratively to achieve excellence in everything we do. Together, we manage and expand a global network of over 50 partnerships with various suppliers and contract manufacturers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical devices and needles for our production needs.
