The Position
Coach, support, and develop technical competencies on shift needed to support successful execution of processes.
Relationships
Shift Manager.
Essential Functions
- Acts as a maintenance advocate, coordinating daily schedule, removing barriers and enabling maintenance to run optimally
- Serves as coach and technical mentor for work cell leaders, maintenance technicians and process teams
- Execute process confirmation of maintenance standards used on shift and work with process team to find ideas to proactively improve quality and compliance
- Coach maintenance Event Response process
- Visualize/track events and actions
- Confirm S&EP technicians and Operators understand and follow process
- Check that solutions are verified to work and shared across shifts
- Manage development plan for S&EP technicians on shift
- Execute on shift maintenance plan, review and close work orders
- Ensure maintenance work is properly documented in SAP and logbooks
- Implements process improvements
- Observes and enforces all safety and environmental requirements
- Performs other duties as required
Physical Requirements
Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Does not require a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in technical field or industry equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum 5 years maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing or equivalent industry / military experience preferred
- Knowledgeable in the following high-speed, automated systems: Filling, Formulation, Inspection, Assembly and Packaging preferred
- Experience driving process improvements/design using systematic methodologies; Lean and Six Sigma strongly preferred
- Proven expertise in mentoring/development, change management, planning/organizing, managing execution, and revising the work plan for complex problems solved by cross functional teams preferred
