If yes, you could be the profile we are looking for as Packaging Development Engineer in Secondary Packaging!

The position

As a Packaging Development Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the Secondary Packaging Specifications using CAD for our Medical Device products.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop specifications for Novo Nordisk secondary packaging using CAD software and responsible for implementing the design input, from a wide range of stakeholders both in Novo Nordisk and external partners
  • Design input will come from our Mechanical Engineers, Graphics Department, our User Communications department, packaging machine builders and external suppliers
  • Work with products in R&D, but you will also be involved in product design transfer from development to our colleagues in product maintenance
  • Work on internal process optimisation projects
  • Develop solutions to match the needs of our stakeholders, using your design expertise and your understanding of upstream and downstream processes

As such, your role is to safeguard the product functionality holistically, to ensure the best trade-off decisions are made to the benefit of the company and our patients.

You can look forward to a position where your work has a high impact on the packaging of the device products that reach the patients. Where you have access to our own prototyping workshop and can work iteratively with your design. The job will give you opportunity for working with innovative products as we also work on improving our processes.

Qualifications

To be a competitive candidate, you should have:

  • A master’s degree withing engineering or similar. Or you have experience within Secondary Packaging Development
  • Experience with Design Control or previous experience from working in or with a highly regulated industry, e.g., medico or pharmaceuticals, automotive or aerospace
  • Good interpersonal skills, a collaborative attitude, and can accept compromising to accommodate different countering trade-offs
  • A high degree of flexibility as the tasks are varied, and the priority of projects and tasks may change
  • Experience with CAD and/or IMPACT, MS Office and find it easy to master IT systems in general
  • Preferably have technical flair and are familiar with technical drawings and construction
  • It is an advantage if you have knowledge of secondary packaging raw materials
  • Your language proficiency in both written and spoken English is at a professional level

As a person you are good at keeping an overview of your tasks and you are analytical and systematic and have excellent communication skills. You can plan your time between several overall project plans, to ensure timely delivery of your own and colleagues’ deliverables

About the department

You will join a cross functional area with dedicated and highly competent colleagues in an area responsible for Developing both Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Packaging Material. The Secondary Packaging Team develops the specifications of neutral (non-printed) Packaging material and coordinates the input from stakeholders, to align with the overall Medical Device Project. The department is supporting the entire range of Novo Nordisk development products, the technical development knowledge is anchored here. We support numerous projects with different expertise, as such, tasks lying outside the above description can also be expected.
