Are you passionate about nanomedicines and genetic therapies and want to use your skills to impact the development of curative and disease-modifying therapies for people with serious chronic conditions? Do you want to become part of an expanding area focused on RNA and Gene Therapies? If so, this position will be just right for you. Apply now and be part of our exciting research!

The position

As a Senior Scientist / Specialist, you will join the Non-Viral Delivery department and will support our platform and pre-clinical pipeline consisting of a variety of nucleic acid-based modalities and genome editing approaches. You will be part of a multinational and diverse team, with the purpose of developing lipid nanoparticles and other non-viral delivery solutions to advance our growing pipeline of RNA and gene therapy-based therapeutics. The position is lab-based and placed in Måløv (Copenhagen area), Denmark.

Your primary tasks will include:

  • Formulation and characterization of lipid nanoparticles for platform build and project support
  • Generating data and executing lab work together with our team of technicians
  • Independently designing assays and performing experiments for the characterization and evaluation of formulations for RNA/gene-based therapies
  • Representing the Non-Viral Delivery team in cross-functional discussions and projects within relevant areas in Research & Early Development, for example, RNA Technologies, DNA Technologies, Genome Editing and our Therapeutic Areas

The seniority level of the position will be decided based on the chosen candidate’s qualifications and experience. We welcome candidates of all experience levels to apply and grow with us.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with experience and background working with lipid nanoparticles, evaluating their performance in vitro and in vivo and the development of advanced characterization assays.

To thrive and succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  • PhD degree in a related topic (nanomedicine, drug delivery, pharmaceutical sciences)
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience working with lipid nanoparticles or other non-viral delivery vehicles
  • Experience with biomaterial and nanoparticle characterization, both in biological context as well as advanced analytical methods
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques or cell imaging is considered an advantage

As a person, you are curious and driven. You take initiative and have a can-do attitude with the ability to execute a plan and keep deadlines.

You are a dedicated team player, who consistently engages in constructive collaborations and values partnership and knowledge sharing. You thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment and passionately follow external trends in the landscape of LNP delivery and clinical translation.

About the department

Non-Viral Delivery is a young department with the purpose of enabling the delivery and future development of RNA and Gene therapies. The team in Denmark works closely together with colleagues in its sister department in Lexington (MA, USA) and with the CMC area in Denmark. The department is part of the Global Nucleic Acid Therapies, which also includes legacy Dicerna.

We are developing curative and disease-modifying therapies for individuals living with serious chronic conditions, spearheaded via co-creational innovation with external partners. Treatment of disease mechanisms operating inside cells, including gene expression is enabled by emerging intracellular drug modalities. Using state-of-the-art technologies, we are building genome editing and RNA capabilities, and establishing viral and non-viral drug delivery platforms, to enable disease-specific design of impactful drugs.
