The Position
As our new Senior Data Engineer, you will support the development and professionalisation of our data foundation in the BI & Analytics team, which supports Finance teams across all of Product Supply, Quality, and IT (PSQIT). You will be the key driver for establishing new ways of working and best practices with support and involvement from rest of team. We are ready to take the next step on our data journey.
As a Senior Digital Engineer at Novo Nordisk, you will:
- Design, develop, test and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate data workflows.
- Utilise Databricks to build scalable data solutions and optimize performance.
- Ensure data quality, integrity and security across all data engineering processes.
- Establish and promote best practices for version control using git.
- Collaborate with finance teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Mentor and guide data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation within the team.
While we already have several business-critical data products and models to maintain and improve, we are also a small department on a big change journey. We therefore invite you to take on a key responsibility in the ongoing development and maintenance of our data foundation. We work in product teams in an agile setup and our aim is to have clear priorities, collaborative processes and curious minds.
Qualifications
To thrive and succeed, we expect you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, complemented by a minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Extensive experience with git and managing version control in a collaborative environment.
- Proven track record of implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong proficiency with Databricks and its ecosystem.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
- Experience with agile methodologies and digital transformation initiatives.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Domain leadership experience, i.e. the capability to mentor and guide team members.
- Fluency in English.
It will be considered an advantage, if you have experience with:
- Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
- Fabric (Particularly PowerBI)
- No-code, low-code tools like Alteryx

About the Department
You will join the PSQIT BI & Analytics Team in Finance, consisting of analysts, developers and BI partners with finance acumen and focus on digitalization.
