The position

As Contract Manufacturing Organisation (CMO) Operations Manager, your primary objective is to ensure stable and reliable planning, production, and release of products to our patients and customers. You will achieve this by partnering with our CMOs. You will oversee the entire operation of one or more of our CMOs, working to enhance collaboration and ensure adequate capacities. Working in close collaboration with internal teams you will establish key priorities and ensure our CMOs are aligned with our business objectives.

Your main activities include:

  • Developing and maintaining a mutually beneficial partnership with CMOs
  • Planning and overseeing production performance at CMOs to ensure capacity meets business needs
  • Handling promptly deviations, change requests, and other relevant tasks to safeguard product quality and on-time release
  • Reporting on and improving CMOs’ key performance indicators
  • Driving or participating in Life Cycle Management projects

Given that our CMOs are located globally, travel activity is to be expected.

Qualifications
To succeed in this position, we imagine that you:

  • Hold a Master’s degree in engineering, chemistry, pharmacy, or another relevant field
  • Possess experience in working either with or at a CMO, along with familiarity with GMP requirements
  • Demonstrate experience working with quality and standard operating procedures in a production/quality control environment
  • Experience of managing project or continuous improvement activities
  • Showcase fluency in both written and spoken English

As a person with informal leadership skills and the ability to facilitate work cross-functionally, you bring a strong quality mind-set and solid analytical skills to the table. You can build relationships through trust and transparency and are able to communicate across cultures. You enjoy working proactively in a dynamic environment, where coordination and executing varied tasks on time is inspiring and motivating. Finally, you possess good communication skills and a structured approach that allow you to create high engagement from both internal and external stakeholders.


About the department

GCM DS Operations is responsible for the global network of DS CMOs in Novo Nordisk. We are currently handling 19 CMOs in operation, and the number is expected to grow heavily in the coming years. We are responsible for the daily operations, capacity utilisation, deliveries to downstream customers while ensuring quality standards are uncompromised.

In partnership with our stakeholders, we set the direction for future collaboration with the CMOs, including expansion, supply chain strategies, collaboration models, and quality oversight.
