About the department

Aseptic Pilot Plant (APP) department is part of the Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development & Scaling organisation that makes a real difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world. We develop, manufacture and distribute drug candidates for clinical trials and have a strong culture with a “can do” mind-set.

APP is in the exciting interface between development and production and therefore have broad contact with many different functions in Novo Nordisk. We manufacture injectable sterile products for clinical trials - primarily phase 1 and 2 for internal productions and phase 1 to phase 3 for outsourced productions. The products vary, but all are produced according to applicable GMP requirements in an aseptic environment.

The department consists of approximately 100 employees and includes process areas such as washing & sterilization, formulation, filling, inspection, supply, environment, cleaning, maintenance and calibration. We have an exciting and challenging workday with varying tasks; thus, we approach tasks with curiosity and the desire to make a difference.

APP is located in Måløv and is part of CMC Drug Product & Analytical Development area.

The position

As (Senior) Manager for Team Outsourced Productions, you will be a vital part of our leadership team and be responsible for leading a newly established team of 10 Scientists handling the production responsibility for outsourced productions at our CMO’s globally.

As we are facing increasing need of aseptic production, your main responsibility will be to build the ramp-up of the aseptic activities at our CMOs as well as building the competencies in your team. A pivotal part will be securing and developing a strong stakeholder communication and collaboration structure, internally and externally.

Additionally, your tasks will be to:

  • Keep yourself updated with the team’s tasks and projects, know when to get involved, and take action when needed
  • Empower, motivate, and develop your team as well as help them balance priorities and deadlines

You will be a part of the APP leadership team with 4 other Managers referring to the area head/Sr. Director. You will also have a significant interphase with a broad number of internal and external stakeholders including close collaboration with managers and project leaders within Novo Nordisk as well as CMO’s globally.

Some travel activities to CMO sites may occur from time to time, approx. 5-10 days a year.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you hold a MSc or other degree within life science or a related field. Furthermore, you will need:

  • 3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical production preferable aseptic production of injectables
  • Several years of leadership experience and building team performance
  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills in English and Danish
  • Experience with CMOs or outsourcing activities is seen as an advantage
