The position

The Obesity New TA Insight Lead is responsible for evaluating and prioritizing growth opportunities within the obesity portfolio, managing market research for new therapeutic area development, and providing competitive intelligence. Serving as the primary contact for market prognosis and forecasting, the role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including medical, regulatory, and commercial, to deliver actionable insights. Success in this position demands strong market and medical knowledge, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Obesity BU Head, the ideal candidate should have expertise in market research, analytics, and strategic planning.

Other role expectations are as follows:

  • Lead market prognosis and opportunity assessments for new therapeutic areas under the obesity brand, including launch strategy, go-to-market planning, competitive analysis, unmet need evaluation, and proposing optimal commercial models aligned with obesity BU priorities.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration by aligning with the regulatory team for updates and working closely with HQ, regional, and local stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Provide insights from a variety of sources and develop strategic guidance for brand teams that result in a business decision or action
  • Identify key issues/ opportunities by monitoring the trends and research for commercial execution, and be able to validate in-depth knowledge of market size/dynamics, treatment pathway, competitive landscape, payer landscape, and unmet needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including for example marketing, sales, to provide actionable strategic insights and consensus for competitive action plans. Additionally, be able to lead the forecasting and planning process based on scenarios

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of marketing/strategy consulting/ market research/analytic experience in the pharmaceutical industry are required and a total 10-15 years of experiences will be highly preferred.
  • Graduate level degree, i.e., B.A. and/or above is required, with a proven track records in global multi-national pharma companies.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential
  • Proven experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  • Strong analytical and strategic marketing skills as well as demonstrated ability to learn new disease areas
