How will you make an impact

In this role, you will support site improvement efforts of all types. These efforts touch all business and manufacturing departments. (From the research and development of new product, through the on-time delivery to the customer.) These projects are strategically chosen to meet the needs of a rapidly growing business.

What will you do

You will join the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) team (Continuous Improvement), tasked to promote lean six sigma principles and methodologies across all functions, driving the company's commitment to excellence.

Finding, developing, and implementing (including basic cost-benefit analysis) new opportunities to drive continuous improvement.

Working with area leaders as vital to create an action-biased culture of continuous improvement and accountability to improve KPI’s

Running continuous improvement activities:

Diagnostics, Just Do It, workshops, kaizens and projects, using various methodologies, tools and systems: lean, six sigma, pull manufacturing, total productive maintenance, waste reduction, Lean Leadership, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Blitz, Cell Design, Flow dynamics, 5S, Visual Management, 3P and other various diagnostic tools

Directly leading and project handling approved operational improvement projects, ensuring projects achieve desired objectives, handling expectations and risk, and ensuring post-implementation benefits are realized.

Calculating opportunities realized through projects, working closely with Finance and Project sponsors to achieve agreed final impact of project.

Staying up to date with new developments in business process improvement methodology, including learning from other market leaders and industries.

Acting as an internal consultant for sharing and implementation of operational excellence standard processes primarily within the site.

Collaborate with colleagues and customers to implement an operational excellence plan that supports site, business unit, and Thermo Fisher Scientific strategies

Implement projects on annual operational excellence road-maps

Other duties as the need arises.

How will you get here?

Education:

Minimum required education: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field

Training in and application of lean manufacturing or like principles

Experience:

3+ years of Continuous Improvement experience

3+ years’ experience in an operations/ manufacturing environment

Proven track record with cross functional teams and new process development

Familiarity with Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Query, and SQL highly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Demonstrated ability to drive teams to tackle problems and implement balanced improvements within the organization.
