How you will make an impact:
The MSD Software Bordeaux team of Materials & Structural Analysis Division (MSD) develops and offers software solutions allowing imaging data analysis, visualization, simulation and management.
Seeking an Analyst who will be an integral part of VDS BU/Divisional finance team to support the delivery of our near and long-term financial objectives. The role involves completing all FP&A planning, analysis & reporting to achieve financial goals and initiatives that support a growing organization.
What You Will Do:
- Analyze and Monitor Data:
- Examine transactional and operational data to identify anomalies and recommend appropriate accruals or reversals for accurate financial reporting.
- Develop and Standardize Reports:
- Create, standardize, and improve recurring analyses and reports to deliver valuable business and financial insights.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and budgeting processes, including key business reviews (e.g., MBR, QBR) and annual operating plan (AOP) preparation.
- Data Management:
- Upload financial data into planning tools such as Hyperion Planning to ensure accuracy and availability.
- Issue Resolution:
- Investigate data issues independently, ask critical questions, and identify root causes.
- Collaborate with functional business partners and system support teams to enhance data quality.
- Financial Support:
- Manage financial oversight for Administration cost centers and prepare management-level financial reports.
- Assist with expense invoice approvals and payment processes.
- Tax and Compliance Support:
- Contribute to R&D tax credit and subsidy calculations or documentation efforts.
- Partner with accounting teams to reconcile and approve expenses.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively learn and adopt new systems and tools to enhance analytics capabilities and improve accuracy.
- Identify process inefficiencies, propose mitigation strategies, and strengthen financial controls.
- Ad-Hoc Support:
- Address ad-hoc requests from internal teams, divisional groups, or corporate partners.

What You Bring:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, or accounting, ideally within a large, matrixed organization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Technical Expertise:
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in pivot tables, complex formulas, modeling, and data visualization.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Hyperion, QAD, or other analytical tools like CRM or Power BI.
- Communication and Teamwork:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English to facilitate effective interactions across multi-site and multi-country teams.
- Attention to Detail:
- Consistently deliver high-quality work with an ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Strong understanding of business processes and financial controls.
- Able to identify weaknesses in existing processes and recommend actionable improvements.
