We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Marketing Data Engineer to join our dynamic marketing team. As a Marketing Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving data-driven marketing initiatives and optimizing our marketing strategies. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining our marketing data infrastructure, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of our marketing data. RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Architecture and Infrastructure:

  • Design, develop, and maintain a robust marketing data infrastructure, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data integration processes.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define data requirements and implement efficient data collection, storage, and processing solutions.
  • Ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of marketing data infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Corporate IT to understand and adhere to standards, recommended approaches, and release procedures.
  • Develops a solid understanding of the technical details of data domains, and clearly understands what business problems are being solved

Data Integration and Management:

  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) marketing data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
  • Develop and implement data integration workflows and processes to enable seamless data flow across marketing systems and platforms.
  • Monitoring and solving data pipeline issues, identifying and addressing performance issues and bottlenecks.
  • Define test cases to perform data quality activities, assist the product owner in writing test scripts that validates business rules, and perform detailed and meticulous testing to ensure data quality.
  • Staying up to date with emerging data engineering technologies, trends, and standard methodologies, and evaluating their applicability to improve data systems and processes.

Automation and Optimization:

  • Find opportunities for process automation and optimization within marketing data management and reporting functions.
  • Implement data automation tools and techniques to streamline data processing and reporting workflows.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve data engineering processes, tools, and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Building, tuning and optimizing data integration workflows to connect data from different source systems.
  • Use of deployment automation software such as Jenkins to detect defects in a code base, build the software, automate testing of their builds, prepare the code base for deployment (delivery), and ultimately deploy code.

Technology Evaluation and Implementation:

  • Stay updated with the latest digital marketing technologies and industry trends to find opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Evaluate and recommend digital marketing data tools, platforms, and technologies to enhance data collection, integration, and analysis processes.
  • Collaborate with IT and vendors to implement and integrate digital marketing data solutions.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Ability and flexibility to coordinate and work with teams distributed across time zones, as needed. For instance, early morning/late evening hours to coordinate with teams in India and US west coast.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience

  • 3+ years of proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python, SQL, Shell scripting.
  • 5+ years designing and developing data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into cloud storage or on prem databases.
