This position will be in RTP, NC. It will be a Maintenance Specialist role. First Shift: Monday-Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm.

Job Description:

Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS and Facility programs and

processes that will ensure a safe and environmentally responsible work environment and

compliance with applicable regulatory requirements/company procedures, minimizing EHS and

Facility related risks to LabCorp, and striving for EHS and Facility excellence.

- MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 3-4 years

- MAINTAINING WASTE INVENTORIES

- REMOVAL OF HAZARDOUS WASTE THROUGHOUT THE LABS

- AUDITS OF CHEMICAL/ HAZARDOUS WASTE STATIONS IN THE LABS

- ASSIST THE FACILITIES DEPARTMENT IN LARGE DEPARTMENT PROJECTS

- PREFERRED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 4-6 years

Emergency preparedness and/or response for EHS and/or Facility department including

assistance with chemical spills, waste material disposal, and working with site leadership

during an emergency.

o Training programs such as first aid, regulatory compliance, and department orientation.

o Spills investigations and corrective measures.

o Assess workplace hazards and corrective measures.

o Waste programs including day-to-day monitoring of waste quantities generated; maintaining

regulatory compliance of waste areas; maintains readiness by performing inspections and filing

documentation of storage areas and participating in regulatory

Specific attention to Hazardous Chemical Waste Management: proper identification of known

hazardous material in the work place; the knowledge of personal protection measures; the

avoidance of accidents; the knowledge of hazardous waste characteristics; hazardous waste

volume generation limits; accumulation limits; spill control measures; record keeping; proper

handling and container management; labeling; container and storage inspections; knowledge of

determining what should appear on shipping papers; filling out shipping papers; emergency

lead for major chemical spill.

Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.

· Must be physically fit to wear protective equipment that could include respiratory protection

and other similar PPE.

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

· Standing, walking, bending is 75% of the day.

· Immunizations and screenings as required.
