Pharmaceutical Sciences Small Molecules (PSSM) develops the formulations and manufacturing processes needed to transform laboratory candidates into new medicines. Simply put, PSSM is Transforming Today’s Discoveries into Tomorrow’s Medicines.
The Senior Manager, Strategy and Operations, supports the global PSSM organization. This is a role for a proficient communicator and project leader who is both a strategic thinker and has strong execution skills. In this blended role, you will partner with the PSSM leadership team to develop and implement robust communications that help drive PSSM culture and promote the value of PSSM. You will serve as an active member of the PSSM EPIC (Equity, People, Inclusion, Culture) Team, providing a key link between the EPIC Team and PSSM communications. In addition to the work you do championing PSSM communications and colleague engagement, you will spend up to 50% of your time supporting PSSM initiatives, as both a leader and a team member.
Responsibilities
PSSM Communications and Value Messaging
Provide communications guidance and support to PSSM senior leaders, including the Senior Vice President of PSSM, identifying communications opportunities and creating communications materials for distribution across PSSM and beyond
Design, implement, and manage a global PSSM communications plan, driving colleague engagement and alignment to business priorities
Proactively identify opportunities to advance PSSM colleague and stakeholder communications
Sourcing material from across PSSM, establish and maintain a library of high impact presentation materials for use in engaging stakeholders, including PSSM "who we are" presentation
Collaborate with science and technology colleagues for creation of internal and external scientific presentation material
Develop creative new mechanisms and channels to promote the value PSSM delivers to Pfizer
Manage PSSM communication channels, including SharePoint and Viva Engage
Colleague Engagement
Develop and deliver colleague engagement forums, connecting leaders and colleagues
Serve as an active member of the PSSM EPIC (Equity, People, Inclusion, Culture) Team, providing a key link between the EPIC Team and PSSM communications
Strategic Initiatives / Projects
Lead PSSM strategic initiatives and projects, engaging with stakeholders at all levels and building alignment among cross-functional teams. Mobilize cross-functional teams in scoping, planning, and delivery of assigned projects, managing risks, and presenting on project progress
Lead or represent SBS via membership on global (across sites or divisions) project teams aimed at improving business processes and implementation of best practices
Coach other PSSM initiative leaders on the delivery and implementation of initiative / project communications plans, driving best practice across PSSM
Qualifications
Must-Have
Business or Communications degree or BS in chemistry, engineering, or related discipline
7+ years experience in a Business Operations, Program Management, Communications, or R&D setting
Demonstrated experience in delivering communications strategies and plans
Strong, versatile writer with ability to grasp complex issues and topics, work under tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
Ability to develop global messaging and materials across diverse audiences
Strong project management skills, overseeing complex cross-functional projects
Ability to navigate a large, global organization and create an effective network of colleagues across levels
Energetic self-starter; self-directed, with impeccable attention to detail
Proficiency with relevant IT tools, including SharePoint, Viva Engage, and PowerPoint
Nice-to-Have
Educational background or experience in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or related area
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Travel requirements expected to be less than 5%.
Teams meetings and calls may be required before and after standard work hours

Work Location Assignment: Hybrid
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $109,400.00 to $182,300.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
