The Market Supply Planning Sr Manager will be the Supply Chain lead for multiple portfolios within Pfizer Hospital commercial businesses in the US market. Responsibilities include ensuring high quality unit demand plans for assigned business unit across all products and alignment with commercial business strategies. Performs demand review and market Sales & Operations Planning Meetings (S&OPs). Manages market assets: safety stock & stocking policy; minimum orders quantities; aging and write-off; inventory targets and value in collaboration with Above Market Planner (AMP). Leads or supports launch planning and monitoring. Identifies supply issues and, in partnership with the with AMP team, develops mitigation/ recovery plans and monitors progress. Works daily with commercial leadership on key business activities. Communicates market-level issue status as required. Manages delivery of product utilizing internal and external supply networks. Lead, plan, and develop consensus driven commercial Business Unit & functional Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) supply & logistics strategies, tactics, and operations related to demand management, supply assurance, inventory management, and product change management for Pfizer Hospital business.

The role will be accountable for supply chain planning responsibilities for up to $500M in annual net sales.

How You Will Achieve It

Product Portfolio Responsibility / Commercial Relationship Management

  • Responsible for managing Business Unit (BU) portfolio(s) within the Hospital commercial business

  • Primary point of contact for commercial relationship in the US market. Will be responsible to monitor performance of the supply chain for supported BUs and intervene where standard Demand Manager and AMP communication & process efforts require assistance. Provide troubleshooting and arbitration, while leveraging available PGS resources to resolve issues.

  • Perform necessary risk assessment and trend analysis in order to take proactive steps to ensure continuous supply and achievement of inventory and performance objectives.

  • Interact with diverse set of supply chain stakeholders & leadership, both internal and external, to proactively identify & resolve supply chain conflicts.

  • Effectively and proactively communicate information regarding demand and supply issues, root causes, impacts, and aligned action plans to PGS management and Business Unit stakeholders and provide regular updates on problem resolution.

  • Develops scenarios and analyzes the resulting implications on demand, supply, inventory, and obsolescence. Recommends an approach for endorsement by the BU and other cross functional team members.

S&OP Leader

  • Coordinate and enhance formal in-market S&OP process ensuring mutual accountability, visibility, & alignment between AMP team, sites, logistics, and business organizations regarding key decisions as they relate to demand, supply, & inventory risks.

Demand Management / Supply Management

  • Leads the ongoing collaboration with business unit commercial and financial teams in the development of unit level operational demand forecasts using statistical modeling and a monthly consensus demand planning process

  • Unit/$ - Process Ownership and alignment

  • Ensures supply chain business processes are in place to guide the timely and effective update various Supply Chain systems, including, but not limited to SAP and other supporting systems

  • Partner with commercial Business Units, AMP teams and PGS Operating Units to systemically improve local market operations, stakeholder interfaces, and business practices. Ensure supply chain information and metrics are visible and actionable to support proactive collaboration, decision making, and product supply plan alignment.

  • Ensures visibility of and performance to PGS Management System (Balanced Score Card).

  • Assist and drive Integrated Manufacturing Excellence (IMEx) initiatives to further develop and raise the maturity of supply chain planning and logistics delivery capabilities and enhance stakeholder engagement.

Launch Management Leadership

  • Plan and implement routine launches, in-line product extensions, and major product changes enabling business unit growth.

  • Responsible for creating and leading cross-functional launch teams existing of colleagues from PGS, Hospital Commercial teams, Quality, Regulatory, Artwork and Labeling, Logistics/Deployment, GCMC, and Legal.

  • Executes successful transition from pre-launch to post launch planning for Wave 1 new molecules through close coordination with Launch Excellence team

Asset Risk Management / Budget Development

  • Drive achievement of brand and market inventory objectives and takes action to minimize inventory write-off exposure/obsolescence.

  • Ensures market inventory optimization and financial performance targets are met.

  • Takes appropriate action to ensure optimal inventory plans to support business unit customer service, order management and revenue operating plans.

  • Develops appropriate business unit or operating unit supply and inventory strategies

  • Leads annual PGS budget demand review process to understand business and operational drivers facilitating alignment with PGS and Commercial stakeholders

Process and Project Management

  • Assist or facilitate major & non-routine Supply Chain or PGS projects that require special attention and coordination of resources, including packaging changes, product transfers, and special analyses for markets, plants, Operating Units, Business Units, or others

  • Provide direction and coaching to AMP team members and other cross functional colleagues

Qualifications

Must have:

  • BS/BA Degree required, preferable in the fields of Supply Chain, Logistics Management, Industrial Engineering or alike

  • 10+ years of combined Supply and Logistics management experience, ideally and, at least in part, in the Pharmaceutical sector. Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), electronics, automotive, retail or other industries can be relevant where understanding and alignment of final customer requirements with sales, marketing and finance

  • 5+ years of experience at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site or distribution site in functions such as planning, operations, or warehousing.

  • 5+ years of experience of demonstrated project management experience

  • Proven ability to work with autonomy in a complex international matrix organization and within a multi-cultural environment

  • Highly developed ability to interact and build effective relationships at all levels of the organization and across geographies with strong oral and written communication skills

  • Customer relationship / interface experience is key, partnering with market stakeholders, understanding requirements and supporting supply & logistics business needs

  • Deep experience in S&OP process and execution at local and regional level

  • Successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to influence and collaborate with peers

  • SAP-ECC, APO, IBP, or BI experience

  • Strong verbal and written English

Preferred qualifications

  • Understanding of pharmaceutical industry regulatory processes, artwork management and product lifecycle changes

  • CPIM or CSCP certification by APICS or equivalent preferred

  • Understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations and “end-to-end” global product flows

  • Continuous improvement/ operational excellence projects and deep project management skills

  • Previous accountability for asset management and budgetary management

  • People management experience: Experience leading a functional or organizational sub-group with multiple teams; recognized coach

  • Experience of logistics operations compliance managing/supporting internal/external market warehousing, including distribution metrics, costs management and operational compliance

  • Deep understanding of the US market, PGS sites, BUs and markets preferred

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $117,300.00 to $195,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
