Medical Information (MI) is a global customer-focused group within MOIT that is responsible for responding to enquiries regarding Pfizer products. Expectations for this role include, but are not limited to, researching and preparing responses for medical enquiries, reviewing promotional materials in accordance with market regulations and company policies, and in interfacing with and supporting Business Unit(s), Product/Therapy Area Team(s) and other platform functions in support of departmental and company objectives. The scope of responsibilities will include Local, Regional and Global elements. Additionally, a Medical Information Manager is expected to actively participate in and potentially lead relatively complex projects/initiatives and have responsibility for the management of specific processes/operational aspects within the Medical Information function for their markets/region.

  • Serves as the subject matter expert for MI on responsible product(s) and associated therapeutic area(s)
  • Exhibits advanced knowledge of MI work and processes as well as comprehensive understanding of other internal stakeholders and relevant functional areas
  • Leads cluster category teams and/or global product teams and drives the creation of global/local content via these virtual teams
  • Researches and analyses scientific information to answer escalated medical enquiries from healthcare professionals in accordance with Pfizer and local regulatory standards
  • Develop and maintain collection of global & local scientific response documents for designated portfolio/therapy area in accordance with Pfizer MI standards and local regulations based on customer needs. Ensures the availability, accuracy and maintenance of medical content on MI digital platforms
  • Use product, therapy area and customer knowledge to analyse enquiry trends and provide customer insights to Medical Information Therapy Area Teams and Product/TA cross-functional teams. Participate in meetings with medical and commercial to provide insights into development of medical plans and strategies as appropriate
  • Supports and mentors MI Specialist/Sr. MI Specialist and frontline colleagues
  • Supports Cluster and MI Frontline Leadership by managing specific processes or operational aspects in the region based on experience and business needs such as quality monitoring, coordination of frontline support, audit readiness, management of relationship with designated markets or business segments (e.g. NZ, Injectables, PGS/Trade Operations etc.). From time to time may be required represent MI at PCO governance forums/incident response teams (e.g. CMC, product recall committees etc.) on behalf of the MI Country Leadership or others
  • Drives new innovative solutions at the local/regional/global level to improve MI processes and responses and to resolve problems based on comprehensive business knowledge
  • Support key scientific conventions/congresses through participation in meeting preparation activities, staffing of MI booths during congresses and post-congress involvement with cross-functional teams.
  • Maintains compliance with local, regional and global Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, training requirements and local laws and regulations. Takes the lead at resolving issues related to the day-to-day work, proposes recommendations and drives implementation of required changes, new processes, etc
