The Position
Primary Purpose of Job (Job Summary)
● Provide medical perspective on the relevant brand(s) under the leadership of (Associate) Medical Director to ensure high-quality medical deliverables.
● Represents Medical Science in Cross-functional discussion for the assigned disease area and related biomarker(s), ensuring effective collaboration with internal & external stakeholders, as requested by (Associate) Medical Director
● Be responsible for the execution of medical plan/biomarker plan.
● Be responsible for the setting of medical plan and related biomarker(s), based on the analysis of data gap and medical educational/KOL development needs, in working with(Associate) Medical Director.
● Ensures strict adherence to the company’s corporate policies, SOP and local regulations for all medical science initiatives for assigned disease area.
Principle Roles & Responsibilities / Accountabilities
(Major functions of the position)
● Provide medical perspective on the relevant brand(s) under the leadership of (Associate) Medical Director to ensure high-quality medical deliverables
− Periodically update medical plan/biomarker plan to reflect the change of the competitive landscape and critical business strategy change if appropriate
− On time, quality and within budget delivery of the relevant part of the medical plan/biomarker plan
● Actively build up internal cross-functional partnership for assigned product(s) and related biomarker by acting as point of primary contact from medical science team for strategy and execution discussions on the assigned product(s) and related biomarker
● Work with other medical functions, including medical information service, epidemiology/outcome research, medical education, medical publications, pharmacovigilance etc. to ensure the optimal execution of the medical plan/biomarker plan
● Work with commercial counterparts in supporting commercial activities for the assigned product(s) and related biomarker, including medical input in the marketing strategy, external professional interaction, sales training, promotional material generation
● Develop and maintain a network of opinion leaders and experts in the assigned therapeutic areas in order to maintain and reinforce the scientific leadership of the Company under the coaching of (Associate) Medical Director
● To provide unmet medical need assessment and product value proposition to regulatory colleagues, as required by (Associate) Medical Director to ensure an optimal local registration strategy of the new product and/or new indication(s) and/or companion/complement diagnosis biomarkers
● To be responsible for the medical scientific elements for any data-generation activities needed for the assigned product(s)
● Ensure appropriate scientific and medical compliance, governance and risk management with the framework of optimized patient centric risk/benefit in the responsible therapeutic areas
Qualification and Experience
Education/Qualifications
● Master Degree or above in Clinical Medicine, Pharma or Bioscience, Clinical Medicine preferred.
● Experience in therapeutic area strongly preferred.
● At least 2 years’ pharmaceutical company experience in medical related role(s). For Bioscience background, at least 3 years’ pharmaceutical company experience in medical related role(s).
Leadership Competencies
● Ability to drive the delivery of commitment in a matrix team
Job Required Competencies
● Good knowledge of assigned TA/disease area
● Good communication skill
● Business Acumen
● For Senior Medical Manager, at least 3 years’ experience in Medical Manager or other equivalent role(s) in medical function of pharmaceutical company. Must demonstrate outstanding knowledge of the medical function, knowledge in data generation, excellent project management skill and communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
