The Opportunity
The SHE & Facility Officer is responsible for implementing global Safety, Health, Environment (SHE), Security, and Facility strategies, including business continuity plans.
This role supports various functions and leads cross-functional and cross-location SHE initiatives. The officer manages personnel, such as security guards, and maintains relationships with vendors, such as the CCTV system provider. Additionally, they champion local strategies and actively engage in the daily operations of SHE, Facility, and Business Continuity Management (BCM) across all three divisions in Latvia: Pharma, Diagnostics, and Roche Services & Solutions Riga.
This role entails supervising three office locations in Latvia. Two of these are rented spaces: the RSS Riga office and the Service Workshop premises for Diagnostics. The third is a historically Roche-owned office building. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with both local regulations and Group Directives from a SHE & Facility perspective. The SHE & Facility Officer must operate independently within the organization, maintaining comprehensive oversight of the site and its operations.
What you’ll be working on:
As part of the global Roche community, the SHE & Facility Officer will regularly collaborate with colleagues from Roche organizations globally and in the Baltics.
As a SHE Officer:
Lead the SHE agenda and provide guidance to the leadership team.
Ensure application of SHE directives and compliance with local regulations.
Promote a safe environment and conduct periodic SHE inspections.
Document and report SHE KPIs, incidents, and compliance.
As a Site Security Officer:
Lead the security agenda and advise on physical, personnel, and information security matters.
Monitor, document, and follow up on security-related incidents.
Ensure compliance with local and corporate security requirements.
In Facilities Management includes:
Oversee maintenance, repairs, and replacements of office equipment and building materials.
Implement risk management processes.
Prepare reports and manage Facility-related budgeting and cost control.
Who you are:
Higher education; technical education is advantageous.
Minimum 2 years in a similar role.
Additional qualifications in SHE/SHW management, Office/Facility management, or experience in law enforcement/emergency services are advantageous.
Advanced proficiency in English.
High level of integrity.
Structured task management with a strong focus on quality and timing.
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong influencing skills with experience in building relationships with key stakeholders.
Self-starter who works independently and drives results.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines, and industry policies (no breaches).
Technologically proficient with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to various reporting systems and Google Suite applications.

Salary starts from 3300 EUR gross/monthly. Final salary depends on the successful candidate's level of experience, skills and qualifications.
