The Opportunity

As a member of the Global Digital Hub Team, you will work to ensure fulfillment of the Global Digital Hub long term outcomes and strategy as well as excellent delivery of content creation priorities. As a Senior Medical writer, you will support the growing medical writing team within Roche Services & Solution Centre in developing medical writing & digital content solutions for our business partners across various therapeutic areas and play a crucial role in business development and stakeholder engagement

As a Senior Medical Writer, you will be at the forefront of creating high-quality content for medical communications tailored solutions. The Senior Medical Writer is an experienced subject matter expert, advisor and leader within the chapter. Focusing on specific therapeutic areas in dedicated service teams, Senior Medical Writers are responsible for training and mentoring medical writers, copywriters and content editors within their assigned team - also driving cross-team upskilling and knowledge transfer to grow the capabilities of the chapter overall. This critical position has a global scope and a key component of the role involves acting as a trusted advisor and knowledgeable consultant to our business teams on the topic of medical writing and communications.

Key accountabilities:

  • Apply your broad knowledge of medical writing for the pharmaceutical industry, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including medical, scientific, and commercial partners, to understand client needs and develop tailored and effective scientific content for digital implementation

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects across a range of therapeutic areas, delivering on agreed timelines

  • Ensuring that the content, format and structure comply with regulatory and other guidelines, as well as with Roche best practices

  • Monitor assigned tasks and manage own workload, taking ownership and anticipating capacity issues and potential solutions

  • As a trained and experienced senior medical writer you will provide mentorship and technical coaching to other medical writers in the team, as well as new writers joining the team

  • As a senior medical writer you will be a subject matter expert in pharmaceutical and medical communications as well as lead the team in assigned, specific therapeutic areas.

Key responsibilities:

  • Your role will require taking responsibility and ownership for upholding the highest standards of scientific accuracy, quality and compliance with all applicable industry guidelines, local and international

  • Exercise excellent interpersonal/communication skills for effective and professional liaison with the internal team, clients, healthcare professionals and other key stakeholders and to obtain comprehensive briefs and responses to queries

  • Diligently keep up to date with, and follow, all applicable company standard operating procedures (SOPs)

  • Effectively partner with customers to understand their business needs and how content creation will contribute to their success

  • Quickly and effectively engage resources, utilizing both formal and informal networks to meet desired goals. Work closely with the Digital Hub Chapter Leads and Business Partners

  • Support and lead cross-functional initiatives, maintaining a global perspective even when supporting departmental efforts

  • Makes recommendations to improve service and responsiveness to business partners

Who you are:

We are looking for dynamic individuals who are highly involved and passionate about medical writing and willing to learn more about building up content strategies. As a Senior Medical Writer you are a person who upholds the highest standards of scientific accuracy, quality and compliance and you are ready to provide mentorship and technical coaching for other medical writers. Further requirements:

  • Advanced degree in a biological science or medical discipline

  • 7+ years of medical writing experience, ideally within an agency setting

  • Native-level written and spoken English, additional languages an advantage

  • Excellent attention to detail, consistency, clarity and scientific rigor

  • Customer-service mentality & can-do attitude

  • Experience with the standard IT-applications, preferably including Google suite

  • Accountable, focused, precise attitude

  • Continuous improvement and growth mindset

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment, ability to prioritize tasks

  • Capability to effectively coordinate people across multiple organizations and countries

  • Ability to manage key global stakeholders. Strong stakeholder management and customer-centric skills

Salary starts from 4000 EUR gross/monthly. Final salary depends on the successful candidate's level of experience, skills and qualifications.
