The HR Service Delivery Specialist is an integral team member of Spark’s Human Resources function responsible for performing HR related duties on a professional level. She/he will execute responsibilities across a wide range of HR disciplines spanning all areas of the employee experience and lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding and everything in between including total rewards, performance management, and general HR policy and program implementation and administration. This position reports to the Manager, HR Service Delivery, is hybrid role based out of Philadelphia, PA and requires onsite presence on Tues, Wed and Thrs.

The HR Service Delivery Specialist will act as the first point of contact in responding to all employee, manager, and new hire inquiries concerning all areas of HR and related programs, policies, and tools utilizing policies and practices for guidance, escalating to SMEs where necessary. The HR Service Delivery Specialist will provide accurate and timely responses to all Spark team members, as well as external vendors, while delivering a positive employee experience and maintaining the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality on all matters.

The HR Service Delivery Specialist will also be responsible for supporting work and life event changes, leave of absence administration, and maintaining HR Questions Knowledge Base.

This role may participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects as needed.

Responsibilities

60% HR Service Excellence

  • Serves as the first point of contact to employees at all levels including basic employee inquiries on HR policies, practices, benefits, etc.
  • Triages HR Questions and responds to basic employee inquiries on HR policies, practices, benefits, etc.; escalates questions for support as needed based on level of inquiry
  • Escalates system issues to the HRIS Leads and identifies areas of system improvement for user experience
  • Support the execution of employee lifecycle processes from onboarding through off-boarding
  • Prepare documentation to support employee events, including leave of absence, severance, off-cycle promotions
  • Ensure a positive employee experience from offer acceptance through Day 1 and beyond; regularly review and revise onboarding and welcome materials with input from Talent Development
  • Monitor trends, process improvements and employee communications, keeping HR PS&T team apprised of new or frequent topics/questions
  • Maintain and update Knowledge Base as new information becomes available, processes & benefits are modified, etc.
  • Regularly review and maintain HR resources to ensure information is current, relevant, and addresses employee needs


30% HR System and Process Support

  • Administers employee changes in HR system (severance, other involuntary separations, title changes, manager changes, off-cycle rewards changes)
  • Other data entry as required including but not limited to basic data requests and reporting
  • Audit and approve employee life events in HR systems
  • Coordinates LOA processes, facilitates communication between employee and vendor for leaves, partners with external vendor, Managers, Benefit Lead, HRBPs as required


10% HR Program and Project Support

  • Participate in annual HR programs/projects to ensure Service Delivery is prepared for employee and manager inquiries. Update Knowledge Base, as needed
  • Provide support to project teams implementing new policies, programs or technology to ensure Service Delivery is prepared for employee and manager inquiries. Update Knowledge Base, as needed


Education And Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required
  • Minimum 2+ years of contact center or customer service experience, which may include internships
  • Prior HR experience preferred

  • General supervision and instructions given for routine work and detailed instructions given for new activities or special assignments.
  • Needs to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity, while referring to policies and practices for guidance, and assessing information from multiple systems.
  • Handles inquiries of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

Internal and External Contacts:

  • Spark employees at all levels including candidates, new hires and alumni
  • Maintains close working relationships with colleagues in HR particularly SMEs and HR PS&T team
  • Functional teams including Payroll and Information Technology
  • Various vendors including outplacement provider and benefit carriers


Spark takes into consideration a combination of candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary for potential new employees. The base salary range for this position is currently from $55,000 to $82,400
