Job Description
Team Description:
The DD&T team is responsible for all of the Digital Improvements, Operational Efficiencies, and Innovative Solutions at the Thousand Oaks Manufacturing Site. The Team's core purpose is to provide solutions targeting Deviations and Discards Reduction, COGS Reduction, Paperless Plant, and Lab of the Future Capabilities. DD&T investigates use cases from the Manufacturing Business Partners, including Quality, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Science, and the support functions such as Finance, EHS, and even HR. They build solutions via Agile Program Management, developing solutions in house, working with vendors, and rolling out NorthStar solutions to improve our site operations, and overall meet our commitments to bring our products to the patient.
Job Description:
The intern will work closely with Takeda’s IT and business teams to explore and demonstrate the potential of AI tools like Microsoft Co-pilot, develop basic electronic forms within our Paperless platform, and build insightful reports using Labviva. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced technologies in a fast-paced, professional manufacturing environment.
How You Will Contribute:
Microsoft Co-pilot/ AI Demonstrations
- Collaborate with business users to understand their use cases.
- Host demo sessions showcasing how AI can simplify and enhance business tasks.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for integrating Co-pilot into daily operations.
Paperless Customization
- Learn to develop and customize basic electronic forms for documents.
- Assist in “train-the-trainer” sessions to educate end-users on the Paperless tool.
- Support the documentation for end users to understand and utilize tools
Labviva Reporting
- Utilize Labviva to build comprehensive reports identifying laboratory spend areas.
- Analyze data to help managers make informed decisions to reduce material costs.
- Present findings and recommendations to the management team.
General Duties
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements.
- Document work processes and create user guides as needed.
- Complete assigned tasks within project timelines and report on progress.
Internship Development Opportunities:
The intern will learn about manufacturing digital needs, and how to utilize AI to deliver value added activities to business users. They will develop a deep understanding of networking within various levels of the organization, relationship building, and develop a strong voice of the customer approach to the business adoption of technology.
Job Requirements:
- This position will be Hybrid and require 2-3 days in the Thousand Oaks office per week.
- Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of AI tools and their applications in business.
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools.
- in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Basic understanding of computer skills including MS Office (PowerPoint, Words, Excel)
- Internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and information gathering
- Highly reliable and a strong team player
- Flexible with an attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM or Business Analyst related discipline (ex. Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Marketing Majors, Business Majors, Project Management)
Internship Eligibility
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later
- The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 29th) or (June 16th - August 22nd)
- The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
- Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
- Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

$21.00 - $46.00
The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
Paid sick time

Commuter Benefit: To offset your work-commute expenses, Takeda provides U.S. employees with a fixed monthly subsidy to be used for either public transportation (transit) or parking.
