Job Description

Job Title: 3PL Operations Management Specialist

Location: Lexington, MA

About the role:

As a 3PL Operations Management Specialist, you will provide support and execution of US 3PL/LSP operations to further US Distribution operational goals including Risk Management, Product Quality, Cost Management, Service Requirements, Compliance (including DSCSA), New Product Launch Support, and Inventory Management. You will use best practice procedures while maintaining an audit/inspection ready status. You will support an atmosphere of continuous improvement. You will also achieve financial results by supporting the elimination of waste and controlling costs through ongoing operational improvements. You will report to the Head of US Distribution.

How you will contribute:

  • Operational troubleshooting on orders and shipments to/from Distribution Centers.

  • Monitor and solve daily 3PLs interface IDOC issues.

  • Support risk mitigation efforts and escalate issues according to process.

  • Implement inventory transactions to support stock accuracy and reconciliation efforts between Takeda SAP and 3PLs ERP systems including Inventory management activities at 3PLs DCs (stock counts, claims, etc.) to meet financial and quality guidelines.

  • Support Strategic implementations with partners.

  • Support error resolution for customer orders with Customer Experience team.

  • Support Operational meetings with 3PL.

  • Support QBRs to drive continuous improvement programs of 3PLs.

  • Provide inputs and participate in regular Performance Meetings with important Takeda partners (LOCs, QA, Finance, Demand & Supply planners) to roll-out Agile continuous improvement programs.

  • Implement US Distribution inputs into quality system and support resolution of Deviation investigations, Change Control planning tasks, and CAPA’s.

  • Support the creation and application of sGOPs (Global operating procedures) to execute tasks on harmonized processes.

  • Operate under GDP compliance SOPs and support Internal/External quality Audits preparation and execution.

  • Support process standardization and harmonization on a local level.

  • Support DSCSA exception management escalations.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • 3-5 years of relevant industry experience in Supply Chain Distribution and Logistics management including controlled temperature (cold-chain) logistics of cGMP regulated materials, Pharmaceuticals would be ideal.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Data Science or Engineering would be ideal.

  • APICS Certification would be ideal.

  • SAP ERP experience.

  • Understanding of implementation of continuous improvement methodologies (i.e., six sigma, Lean).

  • Understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain and Distribution processes and GDP.

  • Supply Chain systems knowledge (SAP, Microsoft office [Excel], BI).

  • Experience with relevant DEA, FDA, OSHA, and EEOC would be ideal.

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection.

  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • Work in a cold, wet environment.

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
