We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Benefits Manager to oversee our company's benefits administration and manage leaves of absence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for helping employees navigate their benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the administration of employee benefits programs (e.g. medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans)
  • Oversee the process for leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Develop and maintain benefits policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries and issues, providing high-level support and escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits administration, including ERISA, ACA, FMLA, and COBRA.
  • Coordinate open enrollment processes, including communication plans and benefits education sessions.
  • Collaborate with vendors and brokers to evaluate, select, and design benefits plans.
  • Process enrollments accurately in Workday and work with the HRIS team to manage integration file feeds with insurance providers, resolving discrepancies when necessary.
  • Conduct audits of payroll deductions and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure distribution of required COBRA notices and manage various benefits reporting requirements.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and promoting various wellness offerings.
  • Analyze and report on benefits program effectiveness and costs, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure competitive and cost-effective benefits offerings.
  • Lead benefits-related projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in benefits administration, including 2+ years managing leaves of absence, with a thorough understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Experience with Workday benefits administration software preferred.
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) certification preferred.
  • Experience with international benefits is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with employees, vendors, brokers, and senior management.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, capable of driving initiatives independently.
  • Scrappy and resourceful, able to navigate challenges and find creative solutions.
  • Intellectually curious, always seeking to learn and stay current with industry trends.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential data with integrity and professionalism.
  • Highly adaptable and flexible, able to manage competing priorities effectively
