The opportunity

Teva Pharmaceuticals is seeking a visionary Vice President of Data and Artificial Intelligence to spearhead our transformative initiatives in data analytics and AI. As a key member of our leadership team, you will have the opportunity to drive innovation and create substantial business value through advanced data-driven strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define a common vision, strategy and approach to data management, data analytics, and AI/ML. Align all related teams and initiatives across the organization with the vision and strategy.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify, assess, and prioritize strategic investments in data and AI/ML that will drive business value and growth for Teva across corporate functions, R&D, manufacturing, and commercial teams
    • Determine the investments necessary in terms of people and technology to achieve these objectives while driving cross-functional enterprise solutions.
    • Develop a multi-year roadmap to create data analytics and AI/ML solutions based on the strategic priorities.
  • Leverage data analytics and AI/ML to support the development of unique insights about Teva’s business and its customers/patients through qualitative and quantitative analytics.
    • Provide Teva employees with the capabilities to use data analytics and AI/ML to generate insights and support decision making in their day-to-day jobs.
  • Create an AI ecosystem of partners/vendors for leveraging external capabilities and capacity to achieve Teva’s business objectives.

  • Develop the data analytics and AI/ML skills, capabilities, processes, and tools for Teva to apply advanced techniques to achieve its growth agenda, such as machine learning/artificial intelligence, generative AI, natural language processing, natural language generation, modeling and simulation, predictive analytics, etc.
  • Develop and implement a framework for measuring the impact of AI initiatives on business outcomes, and customer and patient value
  • Remain abreast of competitive and market-based uses of data analytics and AI/ML to create sustainable value and competitive advantage for Teva
  • Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing AI/ML and data science team. Build successors and a team that meets the business needs now and for the future.
  • Partner with stakeholders to raise awareness within Teva of data analytics and AI/ML capabilities that drive business, customer, and patient value.
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership by developing and guiding high-performing teams specialized in data analytics and AI, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, privacy laws, and ethical standards governing the use of AI in Teva
  • Collaborate with Cyber Security to establish best practices for data governance, security, and transparency to build trust and mitigate risks associated with AI-driven solutions

Your experience and qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.Sc.) in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, bioinformatics, or a related field – Preferred
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and a commitment to driving positive change in healthcare through AI and data
  • Proven track record of leadership in AI research, development, and implementation, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Excellent leadership skills, with a track record of building and managing high-performing AI and data teams, alongside the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve ambitious goals
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams across all levels of the organization
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, ethical considerations, and industry standards related to AI and data in healthcare
  • Experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks and policies.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and big data technologies.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
