Group/Division Summary: The Research & Safety Market Division (RSD) is a business within the Customer Channels Group (CCG), which offers our customers product choice and convenience for scientific operations, serving end markets such as BioPharm, Academia, Government, and Industrial. Our primary office is in Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

Position Summary:

The Commercial Finance function is responsible for providing process oversight and finance support for our fast-paced and innovative North American sales team. By leading activities including customer deal modeling, customer contract, and pricing; you will enable the commercial success of our business. The work of the Commercial Finance team is multifaceted, with direct interaction with our customers and business leaders, providing you an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience and professional growth.

Seeking a creative and customer centric Finance Director to lead the Academic, Government, and Industrial market segment commercial finance team, with 2 direct reports and a span of 7. Support senior leaders in modeling deal analytics, the proforma process, and performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial leadership to define, plan and efficiently implement the commercial strategy
  • Partner with the Commercial leaders to challenge and guide the best allocation of available resources, with a continuous improvement approach
  • Be a trusted business partner by designing commercial solutions and providing thoughtful challenge and valuable insight
  • Translate financial and non-financial metrics to support commercial leaders in driving the business forward
  • Review of large proposals, assess commercial risk, and direct participation in attention to detail
  • Driving the future of analytics and associated organizational change within the commercial and finance teams, through storytelling with data, automation, and dashboards
  • Lead, develop and encourage your team to meet business and finance objectives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Finance field. CPA, CMA, MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant working experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Less than 25% travel required
