How will you make an impact?

We are looking for a motivated Scientist III, Bioinformatics who has practical experience in Machine learning/deep learning (ML/DL). As a valuable member of our team, you will have the chance to make contributions to innovative ML/DL models that improve the advancement of new cell culture products and offer assistance for Bioproduction Services.

What will you do?

  • Help in the design and implementation of effective pipelines that use deep learning and classical machine learning on high dimensional cell culture data and multi-omics data.
  • Develop and maintain a cloud-based big data platform for ongoing model performance evaluation and improvement.
  • Design and deploy web applications like RShiny and Python Dash with Databricks.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand needs and requirements and develop effective models to optimize different aspects of the bioproduction process.
  • Update and report relevant results to diverse project teams and involved parties.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Master’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, statistics, or equivalent experience (doctorate degree is preferred)

Experience

  • Three (3) years of related experience
  • Proficiency in Python/R libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, Matpilotlib, Shiny, ggplot2.
  • Successful track record of applying ML/DL approaches in big data analysis.
  • Familiarity with multi-omics integration and interpretation such as pathway enrichment and network analysis.
  • Experience in the AWS cloud data platform (e.g. Databricks) and version control systems like GitHub, GitLab, etc.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g. SQL, Oracle) and graph databases (e.g. neo4j)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Effective communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to multitask optimally and prioritize multiple projects with guidance.
  • Proven track record of working efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adopt new experimental skills as needed is essential.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize scientific results in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
  • Ability to collaborate and work efficiently with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Stoichiometric modeling of cell metabolism including metabolic flux analysis (MFA), Flux balance analysis (FBA), etc.
  • Experience in software development tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Statistical Design of Experiment (DOE) experience

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $85,000.00–$100,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
