How you will make an impact:
Materials Sciences & Analytical Division (MSD) is part of the Analytical Instruments Group (AIG), and supplies innovative solutions for microscopy, spectroscopy, and microanalysis. Using scanning and transmission electron microscopes, DualBeam™ FIB-SEMs, and spectrometers, combined with sophisticated software suites. Our customers can combine high-resolution imaging with physical, elemental, chemical, and electrical analysis to go from questions to usable data. Our solutions enable customers to push the boundaries of efficiency and innovation.
For our manufacturing entity MSAcht in Eindhoven, we seek a financial analyst to join the Finance Operations team. In this role, you will participate in the month end closing process, contribute to the monthly forecasting and yearly AOP budgeting cycle. Additionally, you will support the operations team by business controlling, providing data driven analytics which will impact the business decision making process and participate in operations improvement projects.
What you will do:
- Analyze transactional / operational data, identify anomalies, calculate and book accruals / reversals to ensure accurate reporting.
- Develop, standardize, and improve regular analyses and reports to share business and financial insights, and support monthly /quarterly /annual forecasting and budgeting process (i.e. support MBR, QBR, AOP, etc.).
- Build and update dashboards, PowerPoint and other business intelligence tools by data-mining in various systems.
- Independently investigate data issues and/or information given, ask pertinent questions and identify root causes, collaborate with functional business partners and system support to improve data quality.
- Collaborate with business partners to generate key assumptions and drivers for decision support, independently conduct ad hoc data analysis to identify business insights and observations.
- Translate business inputs into financial assumptions, build and maintain forecast models to project future business trends, results, etc. covering areas of operations.
- Proactively learn and adopt new systems and tools to improve analytics capability and accuracy
How you will get here:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business-related field required
Experience
- Background in Finance, preferably in a complex manufacturing industry
- Understanding of Manufacturing, S&OP, inventory control and logistics flows.
- Comfortable to work with and bring structure to different sets of data
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools and consolidation systems is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Proficient user of systems (i.e. QAD, Hyperion, Hyperion planning, Power BI, Cognos, excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to summarize and present information in a concise and effective manner.
- Attention to detail and consistently delivering high quality work. Ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines and multi-task in deadline driven environment.
- Good understanding of business processes and operations & financial controls, able to identify control weaknesses in existing process and recommend mitigation actions.
- Self-motivated, higher level of flexibility and strong work ethic with the goal to get the job done.
- Ability to be agile and proactive in order to anticipate and react on future adaptations.
