Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

GBS Automation is responsible for supporting the shared services unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific: Global Business Services by providing process automation expertise and web development capabilities. Our multi-location team is building the future capabilities of the company using existing and emerging technologies combining them in smartly. GBS is a fast-growing organization and a key strategic pillar of the company. Our team has a unique opportunity to support this growth by creating additional capacity instead of purely cutting costs.

The Senior Full Stack and Automation Developer is a key professional reporting to the GBS Automation Manager and is responsible to support the GBS Automation COE by having expert-level full-stack web development and RPA automation skills. End-to-end solution -, technical design and implementation is also a key responsibility.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Develop complete web services and web applications (including back- and front-end) using current technologies and programming languages (Angular/TypeScript, AWS, SQL, Node, etc.), including server integration.

  • Write code in a clear, structured, and standard way.

  • Develop end-to-end automation solutions in UiPath and preferably using other stack technologies (MS Power Automate, Alteryx, etc.)

  • End-to-end ownership of planning, design, architecture, infrastructure related to the web applications and automations.

  • Testing, debugging, and handle errors in the web applications and automation solutions.

  • Analysing and optimizing website and automation performance.

  • Maintaining website security.

Adhering compliance, data privacy and GDPR rules and regulations.

  • Translate business requirements, functional design into technical details.

  • Provide precise Level of Effort estimations (within max 10% tolerance).

  • Responsible for the technical quality of both, web applications and automations products.

  • Full ownership of exploring and bringing in new tools and technologies in collaboration with the broader Digital enablement and GBS Automation team.

  • Training and mentoring of colleagues at lower levels in the team.

  • Requester/customer and project team communication.

  • Ownership of own project management aspects.

    Skills/ Qualification/ Experience

    • Expert in one or more object-oriented programming languages (C#, TypeScript preferred)

    • Expert with one or more types of databases (MS SQL / T-SQL / Postgres preferred) and backend activities, setting up API endpoints.

    • Professional in web-programming and web application development, including a deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript, Angular framework, Material Design for Angular, Prime NG, etc.

    • Expertise in using RPA platforms is required, preferably UiPath:

      • UiPath Studio: Building transactional processes, knowing essential and advanced actions, formulas and the usage, settings, parameters of those.

      • UiPath Orchestrator. Able to deploy, publish robots and manage processes, environments, machines and all other aspects and infrastructure elements.

    • Experienced in GitHub procedures and Agile development.

    • Experience of consuming REST API services.

    • Skilled usage of text editors/IDEs.

    • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel and VBA).

    • Experience in scripting (Python, VB preferred)

    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Power Toolkit with special focus on Flows and Automate Processes.

    • Basic AI (Open AI/Chat GPT) knowledge, including API usage.

    • Knowledge of MS Azure services.

    • Understanding of ERP systems (preferably SAP, JD Edwards, Sales Force, etc.).

    • AWS knowledge is an advantage.

    • Service-focused attitude and willingness to learn.

    • Ability to maintain a positive attitude.

    • The individual should have high energy with the ability to organize/priorities workload.

    • Training and mentoring skills.

    • English language skills are required for this role.

    Working Conditions:

    • This position is based in Budapest however occasional international travel should be expected.

    • The team is serving multiple business units across the globe where the time difference can be more than 8 hours therefore flexibility to join meetings early in the morning or late in the evening is needed occasionally.
