What will you do in this role?
Interfaces with business partners and technology teams to develop system solutions that align with
business initiatives and supporting technologies. Creates or modifies department procedures, techniques and tools used to solve technical problems.
Essential Functions and Other Job Information:
- Performs research to understand business issues, develops practical cost-effective solutions to problems, and prepares comparative analyses for projects.
- Participates in design review and coordinates with management and stakeholders to understand business requirements.
- Develops strategies, gathers demand, translates demand into high-level scope and requirements documents, and tracks demand through the funding lifecycle.
- Works with developers, QA testers, validation team members and managers to create and analyze required project documentation.
- Provides time and resource estimates of requirements and design initiatives.
- Analyzes requirements, makes recommendations, and develops technical specifications to meet business needs.
- Develops test scripts and executes system testing for program changes and enhancements.
- Provides direction for junior staff and conduct peer reviews of work to ensure quality standards are met.

- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depthevaluation of variable factors.
Job Knowledge
- Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (e.g., dept. / peer review). Level at which career may plateau.
Supervision Received
- Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (i.e., Team Lead). Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Business Relationships
- Frequent contacts with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling of specific phases of projects or contracts. Creates formal networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required, Masters degree preferred.
- Previous directly related experience 8+ years
- Experience ELN (Electronic Notebook) and LIMS (Laboratory Management System) is required.
- Experience implementing intelligent automation, such as RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and AI (Artificial Intelligence) is required.
- Solutions designs, Mapping processes or Developing system requirements is preferred.
- Experience with working with budgets and/or putting together RFP is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- In-depth understanding of system development life cycle and requirements methodology
- Comprehensive understanding of requirement gathering methodologies, as well as best practices
- Proficiency in writing use cases
- Comprehensive understanding of different requirement types such as Business, User, Functional, and non-Functional
- Ability to write specifications for complex systems
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to estimate level of effort
- Ability to mentor team members
- Outstanding business skills including documentation, presentation, interpersonal, negotiation and communication
- Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to interact with relational databases at an advanced level
- Advanced technical skills and ability to maximize available resources and technology
