Job Description

Job Title: Senior EHS Manager

Position Summary:

  • Leading the development and implementation of an EHS system & framework across our facilities ensuring compliance with EHS legislation, company procedures, group initiatives and industry standards.
  • Monitor site EHS performance, reporting at local and divisional level
  • Establish minimum levels of EHS-related operating mechanisms; facilitating best-practice sharing and identifying trends to drive improvements across the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a EHS management system and program for all sites in RSD Europe (Warehouses & Offices) and improve it
  • Provides EHS oversight monitoring, guidance, support, and directives to all sites within RSD Europe.
  • Organize, overlook or participate (as the need arises) to regulatory audits and internal compliance audits ensuring that any identified non-compliances are contained and corrected, and findings & leading standard shared.
  • Serve as a technical resource to sites in complex areas of EHS compliance, risk management, hazardous materials/waste, industrial hygiene, industrial safety, and/or ergonomics. Assist sites with the investigation of injuries.
  • Oversee Corporate EHS Database systems (Velocity or Intelex or SHED) SDS Online (HazCom) database systems ensuring that they are appropriately maintained at each site.
  • Participate in relevant Tier Meetings, Stand up and performance regular gemba walks – report out to leadership during monthly business reviews, and quarterly management reviews.
  • Develop & continuously improve EHS training curriculums. Ensure training is effectively rolled out and adhered to
  • Review and assist with routine EHS reporting requirements to government agencies.
  • Deliver powered industrial truck and spill team training.
  • Coordinate and coach/mentor sites & distribution centers on hazardous, universal, and non-hazardous waste management.
  • Support environmental permitting and emergency plan regulatory requirements. Support the Dangerous Goods team as needed.
  • Run EHS projects and EHS program implementation as assigned.
  • Leverage on Practical Process Improvement (PPI) to develop and maintain relevant metrics, root cause / counter measure gaps and continuously improve performance of the system
  • Stay ahead of new legislations and industry trends and prioritize them in our roadmaps.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Risk Management or related field. Master’s degree a plus solid experience in the environmental, health and safety or risk management field in a distribution, industrial, or manufacturing multi-site/regional environment. NEBOSH, CSP, CIH, CHMM, and/or CDGP credential preferred.
  • Familiar with EHS Management systems such as ISO 14001 and/or 45001; regulations and requirements in European Union, United-Kingdon, France, Germany, Sweden, and Spain.
  • Ability drive passion towards goals & vision. Data driven with effective leadership and interpersonal / project management skills.
