Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and driven Senior Scientist to lead the technical feasibility of our early-stage clinical cell therapy product development. In this pivotal role, you will develop a team of scientists, influence strategic decisions, and collaborate with peers and key opinion leaders (KOLs) globally. You will engage with customers to tailor solutions, assess new technologies, coordinate and analyze experimental work, and contribute to new intellectual property (IP) generation. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the technical evaluation of early-stage product development for clinical cell therapy manufacturing.
Build and supervise a small team of scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and go-to person for leadership and R&D teams.
Influence strategic decisions and future product development.
Collaborate with international scientists and KOLs to advance research and development.
Continuously evaluate new technologies, including scientific inventions, potential partnerships, and competitor advancements.
Design, coordinate, and occasionally perform experimental work in the laboratory.
Analyze data and present findings to leadership, peers, and collaborators.
Write protocols and reports, ensuring compliance with our quality system.
Qualifications:
PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, or Molecular Biology plus a minimum of 4 years' Postdoc or industry experience within biotechnology/pharmaceuticals or pre-clinical/clinical research.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to build and technically lead a small team of scientists.
Strong presentation and communication skills, being able to work on multiple projects simultaneously on short timelines.
Expertise in experimental design, execution, and analysis.
Extensive experience in flow cytometry (panel design for phenotyping using spectral and/or conventional multicolor modes), cellular assays (e.g., T-cells, NK, HSC, iPSC, Treg, TIL, MSC), and common immunological analysis (e.g. ELISA, SDS-PAGE).
Experience in cell therapy and proficiency in cell isolation and activation (preferably with magnetic beads/microspheres) and immune cell functional assays (activation, proliferation, killing, and cytokines) is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with clinical trials, regulatory requirements, and/or manufacturing of ancillary materials is an advantage.
