Position Summary:
The Sr Director, Sales for Lab Products drives growth in the Lab Equipment and Lab Plastic Essentials businesses across North America. This role will include assessment, development and implementation of sales plans and processes to identify, generate, and grow business opportunities. The successful incumbent will report to the Vice President, Commercial Operations, Americas and partners with senior leaders and functional partners across the business unit. The successful candidate will need to ensure they have an understanding of the customers, competitors, region dynamics and market needs to drive business growth!
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leadership of the sales team in the East Zone
- Owns strategy for team to drive revenue and booking targets
- Aligns field sales team with product specialists and business unit initiatives
- Encourages a culture passionate about driving new business growth
- Partners with Business Unit, Marketing and Sales Enablement colleagues as well as Channel Partners to develop and implement large-scale, strategic share gain programs such as Target Account Plans
- Talent development, management of compensation plans/incentives and processes
- Lead continued process improvement to drive execution
- Develop market coverage and resources to accelerate regional growth
- Develop and harmonize commercial processes to increase sales efficiencies and execution
- Annual improvement of customer allegiance scores and employee involvement
Key Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, MBA preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of sales, marketing, business development or commercial operations experience
- Role model sales leader with ability to develop a high-performance, customer centric and adaptable sales team
- Validated skills in leadership, strategic selling, negotiating, presentation and communication
- Confirmed commercial competence with strong analytical and financial skills: the ability to draw conclusions and observations from market trends and unit analysis
- Ability to operate within a matrix structure or prior experience working in large corporate environment is required
- Strong talent management and people development skills.
- Must be located within the territory.
- Available to Travel 40-50%
