You will ensure compliance with EHS regulations, conduct audits and training, respond to incidents, and support business continuity efforts. Some additional responsibilities include:
- Partner with functional area partners to supervise performance, efficiency, and report performance metrics. Evaluate trending of metric data; perform root cause analysis and develop CAPAs.
- Drive client and Thermo Fisher Scientific EHS and Quality Program requirements. Establish and maintain policies, practices, and procedures that ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Conduct process audit and product audit to identify improvement opportunities; analyze root causes for quality problems and work through corrective and preventive action.
- Facilitate and perform routine site inspections of company occupied areas and conduct environmental, health and safety employee training. Participate in sustainability efforts.
- Respond to incidents and manage the incident investigation; track and assist with applicable corrective actions to closure.
- Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). Support teams in compliance with EHS requirements; recommend changes to current EHS programs.
- Support business continuity efforts by participating in emergency response drills and training. Partner with client EHSS and Thermo Fisher EHS Manager to address needs outstanding to ULS. Support management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
- Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics. Conduct risk assessments for current job tasks and new processes (CCR).
- Act as a POC for any business-related safety concerns.
- Support 2 sites located in Cambridge, MA and West Greenwich, RI.
- Own audit process; collaborate with client on quality events. Must be present on the floor as subject matter expert in real time to support staff (80/20).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Keys to Success:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience
Experience:
- Environmental, Health, and Safety background
- Good understanding of various quality improvement tools & Lean techniques: 5S, VSM, Waste reduction, Process mapping, Control Charts, etc.
- Knowledge and exposure to ISO Standards
- Experience in a matrixed environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to make timely decisions while functioning in a fast-paced changing work environment.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills; including experience in writing Standard Operating procedures (SOP) and presentation skills.
- Proven excellence in customer service skills.
- Meticulous, problem solver, promotes team environment.
- Excellent computer/software skills. (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
