The Director of Marketing Content Strategy will lead the development and implementation of Thermo Fisher’s content marketing strategy, ensuring content is compelling, findable in search and generative engines, on-brand, and optimized to meet business objectives. By operationalizing our customer value proposition, you will develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies, lead content creation, and ensure alignment with business goals to drive growth and engagement. You will improve awareness of our comprehensive end-to-end capabilities through our website, content, and communications. Applying your expertise in strategic marketing, commercial, channel, data, and communication, you will cultivate customer relationships and increase share gain through digital engagement.

What will you do:

  • Content Strategy: Improve our comprehensive digital visibility strategy, guiding the organization on orchestrating traditional SEO tactics alongside emerging approaches, with a focus on experimenting and improving for AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) to improve content performance across both conventional search engines and AI-powered platforms.

  • Content & Channel Marketing: Identify customer needs and develop the “why to believe” content that will empower customers to partner with us. Bridge top-of-funnel content down to segment marketing and division/regional-level content and tactics. Develop a content strategy that applies videos and podcasts to build customer-centric content at scale based on customer value proposition messaging. Use your marketing expertise to identify impactful content assets and choose channels to increase awareness and reach.

  • Customer-Centric Messaging: Guide creation of web hubs based on SEO/AEO/GEO standard processes and promote thought leadership and top of funnel content to support share gain and contact generation. Collaborate with segment marketing, brand, eBusiness and other teams to operationalize the customer value proposition through the website.

  • Communications & Corporate Support: Be responsible for the Level 1 customer value proposition and fact sheet with support from the Integrated Enterprise Marketing team, leading launch efforts and continual improvements.

  • Performance Measurement: Assess program success and provide mentorship to cross-functional teams to make the vital adjustments to optimize performance.

How will you get here:

Education

  • BA/BS required, preferably with a major/minor in sciences, marketing, or communications.

  • MBA or graduate degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of shown success in marketing, including content strategy, value proposition work, digital enablement, and go-to-market objectives.

  • Experience navigating a highly matrixed organization, leading through influence, and participating on successful teams.

  • Familiarity with the Biotech, BioPharma, and Life Science industries strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in analysis, synthesis, and presentation of information to various audiences, including executives.

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Shown capability in moving strategy to action.

  • Outstanding time management, facilitation, consensus-building, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and content tools is a bonus.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $160,100.00–$240,125.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
