Job Description

In this highly collaborative and visible position in the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD), you will provide global financial leadership for productivity and gross margin improvement initiatives, productivity reporting and data analytics, and Commercial entity OCOGS Controlling. With your data-driven mentality, you will interpret and gain actionable insights from results and forecasts, provide key business and financial mentorship to the organization, and drive alignment and actions that improve CMD business performance. As part of this, you will play a key leadership role and be a strategic partner with our Operations, Finance, BU and cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a proven track record to solve problems, improve process efficiency, champion cultural transformation, and build interpersonal trust and partnerships.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Partner with the Operations team and broader CMD, acting as a strategic advisor related to Operations finance initiatives that drive productivity and gross margin improvement, including Manufacturing Footprint Initiatives, Productivity and Sourcing programs.
  • Collaborate across the Operations, Finance, Business Unit (BU), and Commercial teams to advance the Division’s productivity initiatives. Be the finance representative in the Manufacturing Footprint Initiative Core Team, leading the business cases and measuring progress against the targets.
  • Establish and own Commercial entity OCOGS Controlling.
  • Lead all key financial processes including the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), long range strategic plan (STRAP), month-end/quarter-end close cycles, and other recurring management reporting cadences for both Productivity and OCOGS Controlling.
  • Analyze financial and business performance against key business metrics and identify pertinent financial highlights, enabling understanding of progress against business plans – this includes for the Productivity Scorecard and BU Productivity reviews.
  • Identify, communicate, and lead risk & opportunity reviews.
  • Ensure compliance and accounting-controllership are integrated into business decisions, in line with company policies, US GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act

Who we are looking for:

Education:

  • An undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA desired, though not required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years of finance experience, inclusive of Manufacturing and Supply Chain finance experience
  • Consistent record delivering outstanding results and getting results beyond the finance function
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, confident and mature manager, and business partner
  • Ability to effectively lead and implement ideas in a matrix environment and across functional and global business reporting structures

  • Outstanding analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills, both spoken and written, with all levels of management

  • Strong systems experience with SAP, Hyperion, and digital tools (ie. PowerBI)
  • Ability to travel domestic and internationally 10%
