Description of Work
As a member of the Student Affairs Marketing & Communications (SAMC) team, the Content Manager is crucial in driving the Division of Student Affairs’ content creation efforts.
This role will:
  • Maintain and prioritize a comprehensive content calendar and schedule, develop creative assets, and analyze performance metrics to meet the division’s social and content needs.
  • Serves as a resource for Student Affairs units by providing social media planning, strategy, training, and best practices for departmental social accounts.
  • Responsible for scheduling and implementation of creative assets on campus digital displays.
  • Recruit, hire, schedule, coach, and lead a team of student workers, focused on creating student-centered content as well as completing production assignments as requested by professional staff.
  • Facilitate peer-to-peer training for student workers in marketing and communication roles within Student Affairs units.
  • Develop consistent structures for frequent student feedback to create continuity across division projects, generate insight for future projects, and provide assessment and accountability to department and division work targeting a student audience.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications, marketing, advertising, graphic design, public relations, communications, or related field. Equivalent experience/education will be considered. Must have experience in social media. Familiarity with relevant and on-trend content strategy and developing unique content for appropriate channels required. Demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team as well as the ability to build effective relationships is essential. Strong attention to detail, decision-making and problem solving skills are necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and skills in the use of web analytics and paid digital desirable. Experience implementing a well-defined social media strategy for a large-scale organization helpful. Experience leading a team of content creators or managing creative production a plus. Experience working in the higher education industry preferred.
