Description of Work | The Associate Director of Career and Professional Development of the Business Career Center leads overall strategy of career and professional development services and programming for undergraduate and graduate business students, alumni, employers, and faculty/staff. The position will coordinate the Professional Enhancement Program, (PrEP), a series of four 1-credit hour classes required of all undergraduate business students. The Associate Director will oversee data collection and analysis of key performance indicators related to the Business Career Center’s curricular and co-curricular programming. The Associate Director will supervise assistant directors and may supervise full-time career coach(es), graduate assistant(s), and/or student interns or peer career coaches. In addition, the Associate Director will oversee and/or implement initiatives from college leadership/strategic plan such as those related to experiential learning, career development, or alumni relations. The position will also coach undergraduate and graduate business students and alumni, with professional and career development plans including exploration of individual interests, strengths, values, business majors, and possible careers This individual will provide services to diverse populations including first-generation students, students with disabilities, international students, nontraditional students, students of color, students who identify as LGBTQ, student athletes, and military-affiliated students.

Minimum Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in business, education, counseling, student affairs or related field plus 4 years of experience in career or student services that includes at least 2 years of supervisory experience required. Experience must demonstrate innovative and effective program management abilities; teaching and curriculum development skill; and/or career coaching skills.
Must have the ability to work independently and function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; and proficiency with word processing, database, spreadsheet, email, presentation, educational technologies, and course management software. |
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree in business, education, counseling, student affairs or related field preferred.
Teaching and/or program development experience desirable. Proven ability to develop, implement and assess learning objectives and course outcomes is preferred. Proficiency with course management software helpful. Prefer experience working with both undergraduate and graduate students. Demonstrated knowledge of, experience, or ability to work with diverse college student backgrounds desirable. Assessment experience desirable. |
