Description of Work | The Youth Homeless System Improvement Coordinator, you will lead efforts to enhance and optimize systems and services to address youth homelessness. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, service providers, and community members, to identify gaps, develop strategies, and implement initiatives that improve outcomes for homeless youth. The Youth Homeless System Improvement Coordinator is critical in advocating for policy changes, coordinating resources, and fostering partnerships to create a more responsive and effective support network for vulnerable youth experiencing homelessness.
As the Youth Homeless System Improvement Coordinator, you will provide day-to-day operational management of the YHSI System Improvement grant and the opportunity to work closely with the CCFL Community Services Director and CCFL Community Services faculty and staff. This collaborative environment will foster your professional growth and development as you coordinate the efforts of the subcontractors, plan meetings with statewide stakeholders, and communicate with system partners. Minimum Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in public policy, social work, community planning, or closely related field and 2 years’ experience working in homelessness, youth services, social advocacy, or community planning, with a focus on system improvement and public policy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated through work in other positions, i.e. examples of stakeholder engagement, policy papers and impacts, examples of effectively communicating with diverse stakeholders on complex issues. |
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree in public policy, social work, community planning, or closely related field Prior successful experience as a program or project manager/coordinator. 3 years’ experience working in homelessness, youth services, or community planning with a focus on system improvement and public policy. Knowledge of and experience working in or with Nebraska’s youth service systems. |
