The Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center Program Coordinator will provide a combination of program facilitation, event planning, marketing, and assessment measures. The position is instrumental in driving student success, retention, and recruitment through high-impact programs and streamlined practices. The Program Coordinator is formative in enhancing existing and creating new programs through effective networking to help create a climate at the University of Nebraska –Lincoln that emphasizes, prioritizes, and expands inclusive excellence. Event coordination includes but is not limited to planning and organizing logistics for events, including workshops, symposia, and informal events. In addition, this position will assist with departmental marketing, promotion, and assessment by collaborating with Student Affairs marketing and creating quarterly and ad hoc impact reports as requested.

Minimum Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience plus one year of experience in education environment in an academic, administrative project, or program coordination role (or similar experience). Experience working with multicultural, religious, and/or affinity groups. This position requires a highly skilled, well-organized, and dedicated professional with excellent verbal and written communication, leadership, and adaptability skills. The individual must have the ability to create and maintain relationships with campus and external partners. The ability to work in a supportive and collaborative fashion, to build stronger working relationships and support the growth of a diverse community. Must have a demonstrated awareness of key concepts of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access, and ability to uphold JGMC’s values and successfully work across differences. |
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree in Higher Education, Sociology, Educational Psychology/Psychology, Leadership, Program Management/Administration or related field is preferred. Experience in higher education work setting as well as developing and implementing marketing and promotions plans. Experience assessing program impacts is also preferred. |
