Description of Work | The Department of Agronomy and Horticulture at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) is seeking applications for a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral research associate. This 12-month (calendar year) special appointment will plan and conduct research to evaluate soil-nutrient dynamics in rangeland, pastureland, and cropland specific to the Great Plains that includes but is not limited to: (a) planning, designing, and conducting studies that further the understanding of how management strategies, soil, and climate factors influence soil processes, GHG flux, soil C and associated fractions, in space and time; and (b) developing and implementing nutrient model framework and meta-analytical methods to enhance the understanding of management strategies, soil, and climate factors on nutrient cycling or dynamics including developing new research questions. Responsibilities include: - Supporting faculty researchers, including selecting or developing appropriate methods and procedures.
- Performing data analyses and visualization.
- Maintaining research data, including meta-data for data management plan.
- Preparing reports, presentations, and publishing research results in peer-reviewed journals.
- Guiding undergraduate and graduate students.
- Co-leading proposal development to support research program.
- Providing guest lectures in undergraduate and graduate courses and contributing to outreach and extension activities.
This position will be located in Lincoln, Nebraska and have an apportionment of 100% research. In addition to the above-described duties, the individual will be expected to accept reporting responsibilities and other special ad hoc assignments as requested at the administrative unit, college/division, institute, and/or university level.
