Description of Work | The mission of the Water Sciences Laboratory is to provide technology, expertise, services, and training in advanced analytical science supporting today’s water and natural resources students, researchers, and stakeholders. The Lab is part of the Nebraska Water Center and the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute at the University of Nebraska.
As the Water Sciences Laboratory Research Manager, you will: - Enhance visibility and streamline the research and training missions of the Nebraska Water Center (NWC) and Water Sciences Laboratory (WSL).
- Direct laboratory operations, covering data management, quality assurance, equipment upkeep, and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise sample processing, client relations, and ensure precise reporting and documentation via the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Coordinate equipment use, lead staff and student training programs, manage internships, workshops, and digital badging, while contributing to teaching and promoting lab capabilities.
- Collaborate with the Laboratory Director and Business Center on budgeting, pricing, and client management.
- Direct promotional activities including presenting information at workshops and conferences and ensuring digital and print resources are updated and maintained.
