The University of Nebraska – Lincoln seeks a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to oversee financial reporting and drive process efficiencies. This critical role ensures accurate financial statements, enhances reporting capabilities, and identifies automation opportunities. Key Responsibilities: - Assist the Controller in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and implementing best practices.
- Support student accounts, bursar, audits, and internal controls to uphold sound financial stewardship.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial data integrity and reporting accuracy.
- Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency across administrative systems.
- Strong understanding of data and ability to translate to operations.

Minimum Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field. Five years of business experience in accounting. Management experience including staff supervision. Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of accounting. Demonstrated ability to utilize data sets in operations, workpapers and financial reporting. Strong verbal/written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Excellent leadership, management, organizational, planning and decision-making skills. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities are desired. |
