JOB TITLE: Operational Excellence Manager

LOCATION: 50 Northern Ave, Boston, MA 02210

DUTIES:

  • Provide project management, working closely with the Process Excellence leadership and VMC stakeholders to drive continuous improvement projects at the VMC.
  • Support and drive Organizational Change Management (OCM) activities related to large project roll outs.
  • Own day-to-day tactical execution of improvement efforts at project level; including day-to-day project execution, deliverables, and communication.
  • Apply Six Sigma and Lean approaches to support various VMC teams in complex root cause analysis efforts to resolve recurring manufacturing deviations.
  • Enhance efficiency and coordination among the departments to improve operational processes and/or business practices.
  • Support Manufacturing Technical Services (MTS) and VMC leadership in the implementation of VMC site goals and priority projects, including digital manufacturing initiatives.
  • Support MTS leadership and other VMC stakeholders in the planning and execution of capital projects to repurpose and optimize the use of existing VMC manufacturing space.
  • Author, review, and submit technical and business documentation (such as SOPs and Work Instructions) in support of GMP Operations.

Telecommuting permitted up to 20%.

REQUIREMENTS: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Pharmaceutical Science or Industrial Engineering or related field plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Position requires certification in Six Sigma.

Position also requires demonstrable experience with each of the following:

Lean Manufacturing Leading continuous improvement projects, including improving manufacturing documentation and procedures to standardize and simplify processes. Investigating, troubleshooting, and optimizing manufacturing operations from development through commercial phases. Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance, engineering, and validation.

This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
