The Opportunity

Our location in Portsmouth, VA currently has an opportunity for a Warehouse Manager. In this role, you are responsible for personnel and managing warehouse activities including inbound material movement from vendors, receipt, storage, inventory management, order picking, packing, and distribution to end customers. The role directly impacts the effective use of transportation, warehousing, and distribution budget. The Warehouse Manager manages a multi-functional organization to deliver superior service to multiple business verticals across the US.

WHAT YOU DO

  • The is responsible for order fulfillment, chain of custody form printing, inbound, and inventory control.
  • Leading a cross-functional team, the position will also be responsible for
  • Establish a work environment that emphasizes personnel safety, especially in light of operating heavy material handling equipment, company vehicles, and handling potentially hazardous materials.
  • Establish a work environment that emphasizes inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure timely and accurate receipts of purchased materials and returned goods.
  • Coordinate material transactions between the warehouses and other departments.
  • Manage transitions, as needed, with minimal disruption to customer needs.
  • Supervise cycle count activities and physical inventory counts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipments of finished goods to domestic destinations.
  • Responsible for the management of third-party transportation partners.
  • Facilitate and coordinate multifunctional team meetings to ensure initiatives are accomplished.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.
  • Work with cross-functional teams within the division and across divisions at the regional level.
  • Work in compliance with the Distribution Center Quality System and Quality Policy requirements.
  • Oversee implementation of new procedures, safety improvement programs, and cost reductions.
  • Coordinate with organizational functions, such as Sales/Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance to provide necessary supply chain support for both new and existing products.
  • Stay abreast of current and upcoming trends in warehousing technologies and procedures.
  • Select and train new personnel and evaluate their performance.
  • Establish written procedures relevant to the above functions.
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.
  • Key holder for the site’s metrics.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • High School Diploma and/or an equivalent combination of education and 15 years of warehouse experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP/APO and Business Warehouse data usage), analysis, and presentation.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, or Logistics.
  • Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, or Technical Disciplines.
  • Experience working in multi-ERP system warehouse operations.
  • Experience and knowledge of warehouse operations is very important to this position as this is the key contact for the warehouse activities for the entire division.
  • Experience in a combination of supply chain planning, forecasting, and inventory management.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build consensus across functional, business unit, and geographic boundaries.

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
