Medical Affairs Manager

For our Vascular division, we are recruiting a Medical Affairs Manager EMEA to be based in our EMEA Headquarters in Diegem, Belgium.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the point of contact between Abbott Vascular and physicians regarding scientific and medical aspects of our endovascular therapies and products.
- Develop the scientific aspects and adoption of (new) therapies or concepts such as stents, thrombectomy, vessel closure procedures, Diabetic Foot Management, Drug Eluting Resorbable Scaffolds, orbital atherectomy?
- Establish relations, collaboration with external medical stakeholders such as Key opinion leaders, Medical Societies,
- Develop Medical Advisory Boards, medical forums, and international symposia at congresses etc
- Support medical education programs with agenda development and faculty management where needed.
- Help train commercial teams on medical aspects during employee trainings, pre and post congresses
- Team collaboration and interaction across the Medical team in EMEA, across European headquarters marketing, and other internal stakeholders.
- Ensure scientific expertise in the therapeutic field, and ensure medical communication and positioning of relevant scientific data.
- Identify and prioritize untapped medical opportunities
- Support marketing in the development of Advertising & Promotional material, and be the EMEA Medical Affairs reviewer thereof
- Keep an oversight on to be submitted and ongoing ISS, and be an active reviewer of Regional Investigator Initiated Studies.
- Review and take responsibility for patient safety issues that may be referred to Medical Affairs.
- Ensure perfect processes, execution and create appropriate success measures
- Act as local Medical Affairs contact with local responsibilities for endovascular Benelux
Skills and Experience:
- MD, Biomedical, or scientific university degree (Biology, Pharmacology) or registered Nurse.
- Strong scientific expertise
- Knowledge on endovascular therapeutic field
- Good understanding of Medical Affairs/Medical Science and/or Clinical Affairs
- Understanding of medical affairs and clinical studies.
- Project management,
- Communication and presentation skills,
- Results and performance driven,
- Mastering complexity through superior analytical skills,
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers,
- Customer oriented,
- Team player
- Fluency in English (additional language is an asset)
