The Opportunity

Our location in Lake Forest, IL currently has an opportunity for a Senior Supply Chain Manager, Toxicology.

The Senior Supply Chain Manager, Toxicology will support Abbott’s Toxicology business unit, working out of our Rapid Diagnostics HQ location in Lake Forest, IL. Abbott's rapid diagnostic tests allow healthcare professionals and their patients to get same-day results. For healthcare workers, this means they can diagnose and advise their patients in a single office visit. For patients, quicker results mean earlier treatment, less anxiety, less time, and money spent on repeat doctor visits and a faster return to good health.

What You’ll Work On

  • This role reports directly to the Toxicology Supply Chain Director and will be responsible for global Toxicology demand planning, forecast accuracy, supply planning, inventory performance, product availability, and TPM performance.

  • Leadership: Coach and develop a team of 6-7 demand planners, supply planners, and TPM managers.

  • Planning: Assesses and develops tools to drive forecast accuracy, supply planning, procurement, and inventory projections over the 18–24-month horizon; implements tools and supports utilization across team.

  • Strategy: Delivers S&OP development plan and enhances existing Toxicology global S&OP process to ensure buy-in, participation, and engagement across commercial, finance, quality, regulatory, marketing, and supply chain teams.

  • Performance: Provides guidance and direction to team to ensure consistent execution to and escalation of deviations from, agreed strategies.

  • Service: Maximize customer experience through product availability and on time delivery.

  • Financial: Accurate projection and reduction of distressed inventory (excess & obsolescence). Accurate projection of total network inventory and reduction over the long-term trajectory to support Abbott cash flow initiatives. Accurate forecasting and tracking of TPM spend to ensure pricing are optimized across the Toxicology SKU matrix to support GMI capture.

  • Compliance: Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures & contracts.

  • Represents Supply interests during new product introduction and the life cycle management of the product.

  • Influences the Rapid Diagnostics manufacturing sites, Third Party providers and Distribution Center supply chain teams.

  • Interacts with Marketing, Commercial, Quality, Regulatory, and Finance teams for product availability risk escalation, new product introduction collaboration, supply-impacting quality issue resolution, and Executive S&OP leadership & facilitation.

  • Leads the reduction of Toxicology inventory throughout the global supply chain network.

  • Plans and organizes project assignments of substantial complexity and strategic impact to the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree

  • Minimum 7 years experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Management) or combination experience and education in related work background.

  • MBA preferred.

  • Supply Chain experience: minimum of 7+ years related work experience.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a managerial capacity (including but not limited to direct reporting responsibility).

  • Excellent leadership, problem solving, negotiating, and general “people skills.”

  • Proficient with MS Excel and PowerPoint and presenting to executive leadership.

  • Ability to travel 10-15%, including internationally.

  • Experience negotiating technical agreements with suppliers preferred.

  • Supply Chain and Project Management certifications preferred.

  • PowerBI experience preferred.

  • Significant ERP (ex. SAP, Sage, Great Plains, etc.) experience preferred.

The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 – $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
